Movie Gallery But 2 Get 2 (3/7)
Went into Movie Galley today and the manager told me that the "Buy 2 Get 2" sale starts Monday(3/7). She said Shark Tale will be pulled on Monday for $9.99.

Do ALL Movie Gallery's accross the U.S. and in Canada follow the same dates for this deal? I went to our local Movie Gallery in Atlantic Canada (Prince Edward Island) and the deal was coming up soon, but he couldn't find the exact dates. I'm just wondering if I should expect our sale to start on 03/07/2005 also? It appears that all the chains follow the same procedures, but I'm curious what others think???

The local manager told me the other day that he found it strange for the sale to start on 3/11. He said most deals start on Sunday or Monday. The 11th is a Friday. Oh well, I guess I'll check back again today and see if they finally have an official date.

Actually, most (if not all) of their sales have started on a Friday. They all end on Sundays, so maybe that's what the manager was thinking. I've picked up quite a few additions to my collection at these MG sales and am pretty sure this is their standard m.o. I'm also curious as to what's new out there, so if anyone has anything they've seen, please share. I know Aliens vs. Predator and Saw are going to be available soon for $9.99 each, but I have no new updates on anything else.

I've been hitting the B2G2 sales for a couple of years and they have ALL started on Friday. Most of the stores pull PVDs on Monday. And I've found some managers a little slow on when the sale starts.

I've never participated in this sale before. We have a couple movie galleries so I guess I'll shop around. In either case, I assume this is for used DVD's. Are their used movies reasonably in shape? Do they replace your movie if you bring it home, watch it, and it has issues?
Does this include all used movies? Do they sell used boxed sets. I'll have to stop by a movie gallery this afternoon and check out the selection.

I like Movie Gallery because for 99% percent of the movies, they have the original case and insert (I have had no luck finding outer boxes -- like ones on Spiderman 2/Finding Nemo). To possibly get 4 new movies for $20-$25 is amazing. Also, take a look on Mondays, the day before they put the movies out, because people at my stores are vultures, and by late Tuesday, the good movies are gone. Just ask to see their unshelved inventory. Good Luck
The discs are not (usually) covered with all kinds of stickers and junk, and they sometimes include all the original inserts. The nbiggest difference is that I have yet to find a slip cover for any movie there (I, Robot, King Arthur, Res Evil etc.)

For movies that come with slipcovers (and are not the specialized covers that they get like RE: Apocalypse), I've had good luck with just asking if they had it, and they'd go get one from the back. The only movie I've bought from them that had a slipcover was Chronicles of Riddick.
