DVD Talk Limited Edition
FYI
I happened to be about 2 hours away from my home @ Ann Arbor Borders B&M bookstore. My wife had mentioned there was a bunch of anime marked on clearance the last time she was there a few weeks back (like sub-$10).
Anyway, we were there again yesterday...
there was a new sticker over the old price. $1 !!!! They also had a few Japanese live-action movies (of super-subpar quality) and some other stuff like art prints on clearance for $1.
Anyway, I got
Blue Submarine no 6 vol 3
Blue Gender vol 8
Nadia - Secret of Blue Water (4 volumes not sure which #s)
Argentosoma #3
Cosmo Warrior - Zero vol #3
They also had a few that I turned down (Battle Athletes #8, Burn up Excess volume like 6, Ronin Warriors, etc).
Anyway I suspect this is highly YMMV but $1 anime rocks!!

Uh... Nadia is either a lot longer than 4 volumes (the old one was at least 8) or 2 bricks... but for 1 buck, that's some cheap anime!

No worries. I stopped by last night, but they didn't have any more that I could find (looked around a bit since people like to "misplace" certain items so that they don't get purchased).
I'm glad you were able to pick up a copy yourself though.
I've started watching a few episodes, and so far the series looks promising.

Didn't find any 1.00 anime or DVD's in general but did find some geek books for a 1.00. May want to check your local borders and see what you find.

Grave of the Fireflies is truly a gem of a film, but it's probably one I can only stomach only a handful of times throughout my entire life. On eBay a while back, I was able to get a copy of the CE $4.99 shipped brand new, and it had been years since I had first seen it. I didn't think it would be so painful the second time around, but I think it was even moreso! Needless to say, I was bawling during at least 1/2 of the film. I think it rates up there with Dancer in the Dark as saddest movie ever.

I agree. Grave of the Fireflies is one of the most emotional and heart-felt films that I've seen (live action included). Sad as it is, the film is also very prolific and offers the viewer a window into the heart of Japan at the end of WWII. The war is mostly a backdrop, as the film mostly focuses on the experience and effects on the people. Roger Ebert (if you care what he thinks) actually considers this one of the greatest war films ever made.
Highly recommended.
But I'm in the same boat as you, Justbarelymovin', I've only watched it once, and though I've been looking for a deal to add this one to my collection, it'll be mainly so that my friends and family can also experience this film.
It is that heart-wrenching.

For what it's worth, I also think Grave of the Fireflies is one of the best movies I've ever seen. It is a movie that will stay with you for a long time, truely a masterpiece.

Does anyone need a Mirage of the Blaze set? I picked up one at Best Buy today and when I got home to cancel my backorder, I get an email that it's just been shipped.

Overstock.com has the Love Hina Movies DVD Box Set for $34.56 Also, if you order today, you'll also get 10% off making it $31.10 + $1 shipping. Just follow the link posted by Kal Varnsen: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=415690
*note: some people mention that it might not work with media purchase, but I just bought the set with the coupon and it worked fine.

I'll finish the Right Stuf update in a sec, just wanted to bump this before the Overstock deal dies.

I'm sure you're not alone. Mine was cancelled, and I'm almost willing to bet everyone else's will be, too.
