Wow! That's 10 bucks less than DDDs 20% off sale. Does anyone know if Sam's Club has this deal? We don't have CostCo. Mine is still backordered at DDD. I'd love to cancel it and get it for less.

I really wanted to get this set but none of the Costcos near me have it in stock. The coupons say it is available online but I did not see it there.

It's online here, but the price is 32.99:

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...=&topnav=&cat=

It sounds like his Costco is screwing up and double-applying the coupon. The price comes off automatically, but some less-than-knowledgable sales people may manually apply the actual coupon. Costco by me isn't doing that - I heard them talking about it when these specials started 2 weeks ago, and when I bought the Harry Potter set for a gift yesterday, the coupon was just applied once as it should be.

So, since charging 19.99 is a mistake, your mileage may vary, even if you do find it in stock.

Searched all over my costco here at perimeter in GA but was not able to find it. I guess it is a YMMV now so good luck to everyone I have been wanting to pick this up for awhile now especially after watching Gun Crazy in film class.

How is 19.99 a mistake?

Regular price: 29.99
Coupon -10.00
Total Price: 19.99

Looks right to me! The only YMMV people need to worry about is actually finding the set. My local costco only had a few before the sale and none when it started. I found one finally a few miles away.

See the main Costco thread for more deals other than this one (i.e. wc fields, Charlie Chaplin, etc). There are many coupons for this week.

Actually, Costco regular price for this set is $29.99 and with the $10 off this week it goes to $19.99. I bouught the last set at my nearby Costco on Saturday and the cashier told me to bring the reciept this week to the store because they are going to give the $10 in return.

The Cary Grant set, Elizabeth Taylor set, John Wayne set and others are also part of this deal. They all have the same item number. I just got back from Costco with the Noir set as well as the Cary set for $42.38 out the door.

I'm wrong then. I made an assumption that since online regular price is 42.99, in store price is 39.99--online prices aren't usually $13 different.

So I guess I'll have to check this out, since it seems like DDD will never ship it.

I checked a couple, they had everything else (the 42.99 ones, the 38.99 ones, and the 29.99 ones) but none of the Film Noir collections. I still think it was a price error (yeah, I don't let stuff go easy) since as far as I can tell from a quick look, all the other sets are the same price online as in store, so maybe some stores pulled them. Still, if you can find one, I think you're likely to get it at 19.99, which is a great deal.

Yeah, the stores I went to were out of the Noir set too. And unfortunately, they can't check inventory for any particular set because they get them in boxes with multiple movie sets in each box, all with the same code. So a Tarzan set or a Chaplin set might look the same to them as a Noir set.

I guess I got lucky. I knew this sale was going to happen from the coupon sheet they were handing out at the beginning of the month. When I looked last week the Pompano Beach FL store only had one. When I went in on Monday it was still there by some miracle and I snaped it up.

Since there was plently of stock of the other classic titles, I didn't consider this might be a problem with other stores as well. So when I originally posted I should have added YMMV depending on store. Since they all use the same stocking code for the Classic sets, then a phone call would not have worked.
So it's hit and miss. Good luck to those still in the hunt.

I was at Temecula, CA store today and they had a few Film Noir sets in stock. They also had the Cary Grant Collection with some of the other boxes mentioned, and the shelf they were on had a sign clearly indicating they were $19.99. Didn't buy any since I already have the boxes and most of the DVDs in the others.

First Costco I went to did not have any, the second one had a single set that I picked up. Thanks for the heads up.

Do these come in individual keepcases with a UPC? Never watched a film noir, so incase I don't like them I can trade it to BBV.

the discount comes off instantly when the cashier scans the item so no coupon needed

There is no limit. If you can find it you can buy it no matter how many copies.
