You rock, MissPeach!
This might come in handy as a Christmas present for the girlfriend.
And for me? Well, I've been eyeing this Panasonic dvd recorder they have. It's pretty cheap, too. $199.99. I'm going to buy a new 20" flat screen TV for my girlfriend's apartment. (Her birthday is tomorrow -- Dec. 1st -- and Christmas is around the corner, so December usually kills my wallet). If they're still doing the $10 giftcard (and i hope they do) for every $100 you spend in the store, I could use the giftcard with this $20 coupon and get the DVD player for $169.99.
Question is, do you get the $10 giftcard right away, or is this something they mail to you. Hmm. Either way, this is good news.
Thanks for the coupon, misspeach. You're a peach!

Sadly, this may be a sign of things to come, it may be that the new Best Buy "no devils" is coming to fruition. Now you have to spend at least $200 to get a 10% discount?
Still, thanks for the link Peach, I'm sure some will find it handy!

Bestbuy is BADASS Demon among angel customers
Angel Customer is Easy to Ripping off, new to technology & know nothing about product or where to buy it for lowest price. Also, they take advice to evil employees.
Devil Customer is Smart ass, looking for killer DEAL, and no need for stupid advice from BB employees.
I am RIGHT !!

Ok, I went ahead and bought the television I was planning on buying, plus this progressive scan dvd recorder (a Magnavox one) that was on sale for $199.99. (It also came with a complimentary 10-pack of DVD+R recording discs.
I touched up on this on a different thread:
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...83#post5586283
So, basically, I got $20 off the dvd player (since the coupon is good for dvd players pjriced $99.99 and up). Plus, according to the other thread I was able to get a $10 gift card (although mine was in the form of a coupon) for spending over $100.
So, I essentially got $30 off of my dvd player, plus 10 recordable discs. Now, I'm off to Amazon to see the reviews. The only downside is this player doesn't have DTS capabilities. I figure I'll end up buying another dvd player when I can afford a bangin' home stereo. (As a grad student -- albeit in my late 20s, I don't make the income at this point to afford a home stereo system). Anyway, I digress..
So, for the price, I thought a dvd player/recorder was a bargain.
Oh, but here's something of note. (Congrats to anyone who's read this far.) That coupon registered in their computer and showed that it was a "valued customer" coupon for $20 off. (The clerk recognized this). But when the transaction went through, and I paid for everything (but a couple of extra things so I wasn't cognizant of how much it would be exactly), while walking out I checked the receipt and noticed that the $20 off didn't recognize. So, I didn't get the deduction.
I simply went to customer service and they credited my card for that amount, plus tax. So not much of a hassle. However, it leads me to believe that maybe this coupon is regional or it was meant for a particular person. I have no idea, though. Whatever.
Ok, so read the reviews and so far it's not impressive. But they've only been 4. And other dvd recorders have got the same kind of feedback. So, we'll see.
Anyone know where I can get a code to make this region free? Thanks. And thanks again to MISSPEACH.

The rebate is nice, but unfortunately you can only use it if you're buying a home theater system along with the dvd player.
Still the 10% off is nice. Are they still running it on all dvd players $199 and up? 'Cause I didn't see it when I last checked. However, I do recall them having it a few days ago.
