DVD SOON - cheap dvd sale is back on

I happened to check dvdsoon (as I missed most of the sale at the end of October) and saw all the titles I wanted are back on sale!!

They are a little more now - $7.98 canadian, which another site translates as $6.69 US.

Here's my maybe list:

Marathon Man
How to Steal A Million
Three Coins in the Fountain
Snake Pit
Alexander's Ragtime Band
Officer & Gentleman
RUles of Engagement
PCU
Election
Ferris Bueller
Prime of Jean Brodie
Zorba the Greek
(and all the rest of the Fox Studio Classics)
Silent Night Deadly Night 1 & 2
Boston Strangler
Bull Durham
Young Sherlock Holmes
Down with Love
Wizards

And there are tons more - those are just a few.

It doesn't include everything it did last time as both of the titles I purchased (Once Upon A Time In The West and the Canadian Ginger Snaps CE) and atleast a handful of other titles I made a list of (only checked a few) are not included.

Isn't their shipping policy "guaranteed to be delivered in 3-4 months"?

I think it depends but it can take awhile. I know some have reported they have received some of their items from the sale three weeks ago and my two haven't even entered the packaging phase yet.

If one wants them within a couple of weeks it might be best to spend the extra couple of dollars and order them elsewhere as the sale is mostly titles that can be had for around $9 or under at other places.

I can wait. It's not like I'm sitting in front of my TV with nothing
to play on my DVD player. I have tons of movies I have yet to
watch. As long as I know I'm getting them eventually.

I agree -- none of the titles I ordered are at the top of my viewing list, but they are things I definitely want to own someday (such as all the fox studio classics). My two orders have shipped from Nov. 9th, so as far as I am concerned they are doing ok.

I still don't understand this 8 dvd thing -- I can only place 8 items in any particular order, so i did two orders with 8 each. Does this happen to everyone else?

I don't know that the word "guarantee" should be included. Drop that word and you'll be closer to the policy...

May I ask why the title of your thread is "$6 sale back on" when apparently none of them are $6?

um, $6.69 to be precise.

and a couple weeks ago they were $5.45 so I figured I'd split the difference.

i can change it if it wrecks your whole world to have it say that.

Oh I have no problem with it except that it's inaccurate. And I wouldn't have wasted my time clicking on your thread had it truthfully reflected what amounts to a rehash of an expired deal, posted by someone else earlier.

I think that about sums it up. L8r.

wow, I am surprised by the rudeness. First of all, this is not a rehash of 'an expired deal'. The last sale ended and all the titles went back up to $16.98can. Now they have come back down to $7.98can. There are hundreds of titles that are far cheaper here than any other site. Usually this constitutes a BARGAIN, last time i checked the dictionary.

And this is still about 35 to 50% lower on other sites for things such as the Fox Studio Classics, which is what I was interested in.

I posted this thread because at the end of the last sale, many people posted that they were bummed they missed it (partly because the previous thread had a confusing title). May I suggest if you aren't interested, or you hate dvdsoon.com, that you ignore this thread.

(p.s. now with all the defensiveness out of the way, can someone tell me how to change the subject line for miss picky? I can't seem to remember)

regular members can't change titles...only mods can. So on your first post, click on report this post to a moderator and ask them to change the title.

Thanks for sharing that OOS. Was that there last time as I don't recall seeing that one?

Any others that are new this time (I made a list last time but don't want to do that again)?

see, that turns me off. I don't mind a guarantee of 3-4 weeks, but months! Come on. I'll spend the extra $2 thanks.

Got mine within a few weeks because the dvd was out of stock. However, when it was shipped to the arrival time it took about 4 days. However, I paid about 9.32 US. No biggie.

Looks like they dropped the prices on some that were higher when I checked just a couple of hours ago then (Once Upon A Time In The West also).

Thanks pilot! I appreciate your humor.

In my experience here over the last 5 years, its best to do a new thread when a deal dies and then is reborn -- because after a deal is dead no one visits the old thread anymore. That said, thank you to the original original poster

Hey, a couple other good deals:

WEEZER - Video Capture Device, $6.61 (next closest on price search is over $12)

SONIC YOUTH - Corporate Ghost, $6.61 (ddd is 11.41 regular or 9.13 after 20% sale)

Pasolini, I appreciate the thread. Only got the tail end of the last one. Might have to pick up Weezer as well as a few others. Out of the three I ordered last time, 1 shipped, 1 is in packaging (takes about a week it seems), and 1 is 'on hand'.

Oh and thanks for posting a deal you yourself found and not just reposting stuff you rip from ChubbyWallet < /snide>
