Entertainment Weekly subscribers...free DVD in the 11/5/04 issue!

This is a heads up for subscribers of Entertainment Weekly. This weeks issue (with Elton John on the cover) has a free DVD with the first episode of Showtime's new show "Huff."

Not in mine. How does EW decide who gets one ... who doesn't?

It sucks that EW only sends these DVD's to select subscribers.

Doubt I'll receive it (as I am in SC ...not the hugest tv market I don't think).

I doubt I'll even receive the mag until Wed! When I first started subscribing (back in 98) I always got my mag on the Friday before the release to stores). Now I usually get it on Tuesday of the next week!

WTF!

I got mine (NYC). Haven't watched it yet, but I'm really happy to see that Paget Brewster (of Andy Richter Controls the Universe) has a co-starring role.

Don't blame EW -- it's not their decision.

The DVD is advertising; it's the network's decision as to how many DVDs are manufactured & sent out and to where.

WOW! Actually got my magazine today. Again, I usually get it on Tuesday after it is released.

But I knew it. I didn't get a dvd.

EW could always reject the advertising. (Yeah, right.)

I'm feeling rather warmly toward Wired at the moment since everybody, subscribers and newsstand buyers alike, got the CD this month.

Well, WIRED is a monthly, with a third of the subscribers as Entertainment Weekly --- WIRED is less frequent and has a smaller audience, therefore A LOT cheaper for the advertisers. And the placement of DVDs are advertising, so they are subjective to who the network wants to reach.

I guess Baltimore/Washington area is not a BIG enough market since I never get any of their DVD. Sigh!
