Wal-Mart and MGM Midnight Movies $5
 

Went to Wal-Mart tonight and they had a box full of MGM Midnight movies for 5 bucks. Picked up The Beast Within. I'll probably go back and pick up Theatre of Blood. They had a slew of beach movies thrown in for good measure. Here's a sample of what I saw.

The Beast Within
Strange Invaders
Invaders From Mars
Abominable Dr. Phibes
Dr. Phibes Rises Again
Theatre of Blood
The Dunwich Horror
Wild Angles (some biker movie)
Ghoulies/Ghoulies 2

Thanks for the post, the Halloween bin must be up.

These are the individual movies? not that much of a deal when you remember they re-released those in double feature DVD's for $9.99.

Still it's cooler to have the original single movie releases with the full artwork on the cover if you dont mind the extra shelf space.

These are the single movie discs. The only double one I saw was Ghoulies/Ghoulies 2.

FWIW, the Ghoulies/Ghoulies 2 disc isn't part of the Midnite Movies collection.

Most of the others are now available as double-feature discs from Best Buy.

Sorry, can't resist pointing out that WILD ANGELS isn't just "some" biker movie, it's THE biker movie! The one that launched the genre...

For it's time it was very daring. And today it's still very quotable, particularly from Peter Fonda's speech defending his lifestyle... "We want to do what we want to do..."

ghoulies/ghoulies 2 is 9.96 at my local wal-mart.....
