Yes it will but note it says REGULAR price so ymmv as applied to any sale items. Other restriction is 1 discounted item per transaction.

I may pick up some books. DVD Planet and DDD still beat out most DVDs at Borders with the coupon.

Buford T Pusser 09-29-04 01:20 AM

thanks

GuessWho 09-29-04 08:59 AM

Oh shit. I just bought a DVD there last night. :(

Nabalab 09-29-04 10:35 AM

This may be stating the obvious -

If you want to buy more than one dvd, print out more than one coupon - and have the cashier ring up the dvd's in seperate orders.

It worked for me.

Mutley Hyde 09-29-04 10:37 AM

A week late. This sure would have helped on Flesh for Frankenstein. :(

Ah well, I'm sure I can find a use for it still. :)

Canis Firebrand 09-29-04 10:45 AM

I've usually found their dvd prices to be on the high side.

But I might use a coupon to get a PHP book that I've been looking at. $50 for a book is a bit much, $40 is still high, but nicer then $50.

Thanks for posting the coupon.

as ive posted before, dont just go by the price sticker on the DVDs, if you have the time, look them up in their computer and you can find a lower price, comparable alot of time to best buy. for some reason they dont change the price sticker when they lower prices and it will ring up at the sticker price unless they override it. alot of hassle i know but it may be worth it.

thanks!!

I have signed up for Borders mail more than once and if it weren't for this forum, I would never see a coupon :(

GuessWho 09-29-04 03:16 PM

During the first or second week in October (I forget the actual dates), Borders is giving CURRENT AND RETIRED TEACHERS 20% off anything in the store -- but only 15% off DVDs.

This was seen advertised by a bunch of signs in my local Borders

You can check their inventory and prices here.

Another "thanks" to the OP for the coupon... and a suggestion to the MODs that a "Borders Coupon(s)" sticky thread be created in this forum. It seems that many people use these coupons and, unlike Amazon.com, coupons from this retailer do come out on a regular basis.

The cashier in Cambridge, MA, today rang the coupon up at only 10% off the DVD claiming it fell under the "electronics" category. I tracked down a manager who verified that the cashier was in error and that it should indeed be 20% off DVDs.

Funny, same thing happened to me this afternoon in Eugene (and, to his credit, the manager was very apologetic for the clerk's mistake.)

Thanks to the OP. Will hopefully be using this soon.

Most $19.95 titles have a "regular" price tag of $14.95, so with the coupon that makes the price $11.96 (plus any sales taxes you have) - that beats most online pricing, and is just about the only price level I've ever found where using the 20% Borders coupons actually makes sense.

Have to agree with you, marty888. That's how I plan to buy DUEL and DARBY O'GILL. Most of the times, the coupon will also work on new DVD releases that they temporarily discount, although you may need to wait a day or two after they come out before the lower price is reflected in their system. For example, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND is normally 25.99, but when you check online (www.bordersstores.com), it shows 19.99. You should be able to get it for 15.99 with the coupon.

I picked up I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE (millinium edition) for 11.99 with the coupon. Not a bad deal considering it's 16.49 at DDD.

Rammsteinfan 09-30-04 05:23 PM

Nice, a few things I wanna pick up so I will check it out. Thanks!

Banky 10-01-04 08:59 PM

Nice! Just got back from picking up Dial M for Murder for 11.99! Thanks again.

Frank A 10-01-04 09:13 PM

Picked up Star Trek Generations 2-Disc SE for $11.99.

bhauge 10-02-04 12:15 AM

Got my DARBY O'GILL for $11.99 tonight. Weird coincidence was that the name of the music group that was playing there tonight was also name DARBY O'GILL. Spooky!
