Toys R Us does not list a price, but they have a $10 gift card with purchase of the DVD set or Battlefront.

Game Stop is running the same deal but I don't think that 3 DVDs is worth the $10 savings. I'd rather just pay $10 more at CompUSA or use the 20% off Madden coupon (only if you have it) at Best Buy.

Also, Game Stop has 2 deals: trade in 3 DVDs get either Scooby Doo 2 or The Day After Tomorrow free. You can do both deals if you want.

The best deal I have found is to pricematch Fry's at CompUSA. CompUSA's policy is to beat a competitor's price by $1.00, so you could get Star Wars for $35.99. CompUSA is probably not in any danger of running out either.

thanks for the prices!

catsmeow 09-19-04 08:33 PM

I'm going to pick up Mean Girls, even though it is more a kid movie. I guess I will see if the free book is worth the extra $1.33 over the price match for walmart. Last time Best Buy wouldn't let me price match and get the freebie.

Correct me if I'm wrong, if you read the fine print on CompUSA PM they say something like up to 4 weeks to pay you for the difference. Worth a look.

I was in Wherehouse Music in Burbank today and I could swear I saw a poster saying they were selling it for 35.99. Can anybody confirm? I wasn't paying too much attention cause I've already got it on preorder from Buy.com for 36.99.

OldBoy 09-20-04 05:01 AM

Can you take the scan of Fry's ad and price match at a Best Buy anywhere or does it have to be in the general location of that Fry's? Also, do you just go to Best Buy and say price match? do all locations do this?

wildman1037 09-20-04 08:24 AM

Scott1598 - I've had problems having BB pricematch anything off of the internet. Hell, most of the time they won't even pricematch their own website!!! However, for any other B&M store, (i.e. CC, Target, CompUSA, etc.) if they're in the general vicinity, they require you to bring the ad to BB so they can see the actual ad. Pain in the a$$, but if you have the ad, the rest is pretty painless...

Star Wars is just so fetch. And it's so already on its way from Amazon.

In the mean time, count me in for Mean Girls and Coffee and Cigarettes from Best Buy!

if I'm not mistaken Wherehouse and FYE are owned by the same company, so Wherehouse now are starting to have all the deals that FYE is having.

the 34.99 I think is after a 15 dollar mail in rebate I believe.

$49.99 with a $10 Gift Card at either Circuit City or Toys R' Us

Schloob1 09-20-04 01:38 PM

Direct from the CompUSA website:

CompUSA’s Retail Store Low Price Guarantee.
"We'll beat any local retail competitor's advertised price on every product we sell by $1.00, either at the time of purchase or within the following 14 days."

I think this clearly means that they will beat the price within 14 days of your purchase date. Indirectly it states if you bought something from us and within 14 days of that purchase you find it cheaper somewhere else, show us that price and we will refund the difference and $1. Unlike CC and BB, who have a very detailed description of their policy.

So it looks like I am headed off to CompUSA with my printout of the Fry's ad for the trilogy at $35.99 now.

Anyone else find out if Toys R Uswould do a price match? I was going to call when I have a chance because their policy is tough to decipher. Whether becasue of their special $10 gift card offer they will not price match, or if some other retailer had an offer of say a price and gift card they will not do the same, confusing?

It's PDF image of a Fry's ad with the $36.99 SW Trilogy at the top right corner. It's still a printout but may be better than using a product page printout from outpost.com when you PM. YMMV.

Does anyone know if CC will take Fry's ads if you don't have a Fry in your area?( Florida doesn't have this store)

probably not but YMMV.

BrentC07 09-20-04 03:55 PM

In their Sunday ad, Walgreens had a $3 off coupon for "Mean Girls"
Does anybody know if Walmart will accept coupons from other stores?

No, the competitor must be withing a certain mileage from the store. I belive this is 50 miles.

Centurion 09-21-04 09:57 AM

If you're still debating whether or not to hit up The Wherehouse in Burbank (California), just chiming in to say that Fry's is only another 1 - 1.5 miles away from there.

However, a dollar saved is another dollar good towards something else I guess.

Anybody know the BB price for Felicity season 3? There website says $69.99 but that's can't be right can it?

Well it's actually $59.99 in store which is the price it's marked at so no sale what so ever. What a terrible price. I don't expect them to be the cheapest but at least be in the ballpark. Off to Target I go.
