I hope not, I was going to go there today and preorder 4 of them using all that video game credit I've built up. DANG! I did call Monday and they did confirm over the phone the $23 price... but may have changed.

Trying Blockbuster
Went to Blockbuster today..was told I can't order anything they won't have in stock...and they didn't plan to have SCTV..
For Vol 1. I used a coupon found here for Shop NBC, and got a good deal..
I'm looking forward to Zontar, and the Godfather parody...Eugene Levy as Floyd the Barber...asking the Godfather to break Opie's legs..cant get better than that..

I stopped by my corner BBV last night to check on SCTV vol. 2 and the Looney Tunes GC vol. 2 prices. They were both still listed at the lower (or mis) price. The guy behind the counter said their store wouldn't be carrying SCTV vol. 2 so he couldn't pre-order it for me. Sheesh....
He also said they might be carrying the Looney Tunes set, but he wouldn't know for sure for a few more weeks when the order was actually placed by the manager.
It seems a bit irregular to me for a retailer to not be able (or willing) to special order an item that a specific customer is requesting. Every other type of retailer I have ever shopped at has been willing to do so for a customer as long as it falls within their normal line of merchandise, and especially if it's something listed in their inventory system. I don't get why BBV (or at least their individual stores and staff) seems to enjoy making things as diifficult as possible for potential customers.
In the meantime, I'm going to try the other stores around town and see if any of them are actually operated in the interest of selling to a customer rather than acting as if it is an annoyance to do so.

Somewhere on one of these threads someone who works at a Blockbuster tells exactly what to tell the cashier when ordering, right down to the buttons to push on the register. I wish I had seen that before I went in, because he tells you what to say so you can pay in full and avoid the $1 below price down payment situation...which leaves you open to the pickup time payoff "this price can't be right" confrontation.

If anyone remembers the protocol, please post so Bill will have some luck.

That would be nice to know. This is the first item I've ever ordered from BBV this way. I have my receipt for $1 less than the cost. Just what should I do/say when 11 short from now I walk into BBV to make sure that all I do is pay my $1 and walk out with the set and no extra hassle? Is there any extra magic we should know about?

If I recall the previous post you are talking about, they should press a "Presale" button on their computer. They will need to know the part number of the item, which they should have written on your special order form. Outside of that, I don't know. I would assume the computer system would just walk the employee through it after they start the presale process on your account.
Is the OP a BBV employee?

Actually, you should be able to pre-order an item in full, with $0 due on delivery.
The CSR first types in PRESALE or hits the presale button
Them system will ask for a part number
The system asks new or used
Then it asks if they would like to put down a deposit. If they hit "NO" then the items should ring up full price and you can pay for it right there and then.
On street date (or whenever you go pick it up) the all the CSR has to do is type in "DELIVER", type in the part number, and hand you the DVD.
That's been my experience anyways.
