$1.00 DVDs at Wal-Mart B&M YMMV
I was just at a Wal-Mart in Florida and found that besides the DVD bargain bin there was also a small bin of dvds for $1.00 each near the front registers next to the candy. You can't really see these until you are getting ready to leave. I picked up a few and they did ring up for $1.00. They had
A farewell to Arms (Gary Cooper)
The Terror (Jack Nicholson, Boris Karloff)
The Satanic Rites of Draculs (Christopher Lee)
Black Brigade (Richard Pryor, Billy Dee Williams)
I do not know if other Wal-Marts in other places have $1.00 disks or not so I guess it is a YMMV deal. It would be interesting to see what titles other stores have. The movies come in the slim dvd cases and are all full-frame.
I was going to put this in the wal-mart bargain bin thread but since the disks are not in the bargain-bin I figured a separate thread would be better.

The walmart I stopped into yesterday also had these. There were 6-8 titles total.... in addition to those mentioned above I also remember seeing "The man who knew too much"
The display at my walmart is in the electronics dept, in a cardboard display on an endcap. I almost missed it.

I bought a couple of the $1.00 DVDs earlier this month: a Popeye disc and one with The 3 Stooges cartoons. They were made by a company called Digiview Productions:

Dollar Tree stores now have the Austrailian animated stories discs, from NuTech and they come in real cases! They have DTS but be warned that it sounds like someone just recorded a speaker set up at the end of a hall! I bought the Robin Hood one a couple years ago for around $3, which was an insanely low price at the time, but it proved that DTS doesn't guarantee great sound!
This same company put out porn discs too, some of them with DTS! Wonder if those'll ever show up at the dollar stores?

I've used those Dollar Tree disks at Media Play as part of the whole Trade In Tuesday. I took a chance for $4 and talked to the trade person and they just didn't care, so I've done it two more times. There are worse things in life than getting the first and second series of the Office and Hidden Fortress for $12.

My Wal-Mart has just started carrying the TV assortment from DigiViews, which was mentioned in an above post.
Will have to try these out as they did a fairly good job with the movies so far.
Just hope that the theme songs are intact.

I saw the DTS discs at the Dollar Tree a while ago but they were cartoons that I'd never buy.
Maybe the "Alice in Wonderland" but I doubted.
I wouldn't mind getting the Bonanza discs for my Dad.

I would stay away from the Dragnet disks. I bought a couple not too long ago and apparently DigiView is concerned about the copyright to the music, because the familiar theme music has all been replaced. My guess is that the episodes are in the public domain but they are concerned that the music is not ... so they replaced it to be on the safe side. It really detracts from the episodes.

The Television Classics line of dollar dvds (by Genius Entertainment) are of much higher quality than the ones mentioned above. There should be some threads about them here, but the Felix the Cat, Van Beuren studios (including a Van Beuren Tom and Jerry disc) and Cartoon Classics collections are well worth seeking out. These often are packaged in thin cardboard sleeves, but Targets have them in slightly thicker cardboard boxes.

I bought a few of the Digiview DVDs at Walmart this month. The Cartoon Craze DVDs are good.
But the DVD of The Lucy Show made by Digiview:
is terrible. The picture quality and sound is good, but Digiview decided to cut out the show opening and end credits to each episode. The bonus Jack Benny episode on the DVD is good.

More Walmart deals.
Just got back from the Walmart in Woodbridge Va. All there $1.00 dvds which is a lot rings up for $0.88 cents. I got David and Goliath with Orsen Wells and Satanic Rites of Dracula with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing.
