Double Indemnity at Tower?!
Just got my Tower ad, it has a 9.99 section, and Double Indemnity is one of them!!
It has the pic from the old release...
How the hell is this possible? This release is OOP and the new one was cancelled. And I looked on Tower's site, searching for Double Indemnity yields NO results!
Anyway here's the 9.99 list:
The Natural
Double Indemnity
Heartburn
The Spy who Came in from the Cold
Amores Perros
Y Tu Mama Tambien
American me
Big Lebowski
Chris Rock: Bigger & Blacker
Car Wash
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
Legally Blonde
Out of Africa
Red Violin
Ever After
Muriel's Wedding
Swingers
Waking Ned Divine
A Walk on the Moon
What about Bob?
Salamander
and it the bottom it says:
PLUS An Affair to Remeber, Being John Malkovich, The Grapes of Wrath, Les Miserables, The Omen, Reefer Madness, Robocop, The Seven Year Itch, St. Elmo's Fire, Titanic (97), Total Recall, Wall Steet and more

Tower is not the swiftest - I'm sure they set up that ad (it's a slick insert probably distributed nationwide) a few weeks back and never bothered to reconfirm the release date.

It's a copy of the OOP version, not a new release. I'm assuming these might just be left overs that tower had stored away somewhere and now with the possible re-release being around the corner, they have decided to get rid of these.

I certainly wouldn't buy the OOP version NOW -- assuming the new version will be along at some point soon, hopefully. The Image release is not a good transfer, made from second rate materials -- someone goofed and didn't provide the better source.

No draconian or pedantic intent here.
Just saw the mistake and felt compelled to point it out, much like I would never let it pass if a friend of mine said it in my presence. We're all friends here right?
I would usually put a smiley, but forgot to in this case. Too busy putting my color tag in I guess.
So call off the dogs Tarantino.

Not sure if they would have it or not but filing for bankruptcy ch. 11 can not be to good.
This thread is 2 years old by the way.

Did the legwork to find this out myself... Tower B&M is NOT currently carrying the 2-disc Double Indemnity in their inventory. Bummer. Probably due the the financial troubles mentioned in the previous post. I usually pick up my new releases at Tower each week, but I may have to start finding new alternatives.
