Blockbuster Lowers Price on Trade In DVDs $4.99

I am unsure whether this a nationwide procedure, but all dvds that have been traded in during the DVD Trade In have been repriced. All dvds that came into the store were priced at 9.99, due to poor resale, they have been lowered to 4.99. You may find some good stuff at your local store. You might want to call ahead. Found Kill Bill and some other goodies for 4.99.

Good Luck!

Picked up The Kid Stays in the Picture and About Schmidt for $4.99. My Blockbuster now has two PVD bins in addition to the usual rack. One has trade-ins for $4.99 and the other has older movies that Blockbuster has pulled from their shelves like Theater of Blood and Twice Told Tales . While the trade-in bin has some newer movies for $4.99, the other bin is all $9.99.

Thanks for the tip.

Picked up Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid for $5. I had been wanting to see it so I got it instead of a rental.

It's about time they did something to move those - I would buy some $9.99 DVDs during the buy 2 get 1 free sales, but they have only had one of those this year. Most people won't look at the $9.99 DVDs when the higher-priced recent releases are 2 for $20?

Most of the stuff on the trade in shelf is garbage (a lot of Walmart dump-bin), but occasionally I would find some good ones. I snagged traded-in Terminator 3 and 28 Days Later at $9.99 (B2G1) when they were still priced at $14.99 on the shelves.

Thanks.
I NEVER go to BBV these days,
but I suppose I'll be dropping by to see what's what.

The $4.99 racks were on the endcaps at the store I was at. Lots of Charlie's Angels: FT, Don't Say a Word, and recent Stallone movies.

Ditto at my local BB. They were a tad difficult to find. Nothing earth shaking here but worth a peek.

There's no mistaking the collection of crapola that's been traded. People figured this deal out and are selling off the true dregs of their collections.

It is on the endcap behind the regular pre-viewed stuff, but it is, alas, marked $9.99 still at this point.

Not always - I picked up a Gladiator signature set which had been traded in - it had a couple deep radial scratches but I was able to clean it up and get it to play, even on my old Toshiba with poor error correction.

As I posted above, a few months back I got Terminator 3 and 28 Days Later for $9.99 (B2G1) which were still priced $14.99 in the regular section. Mostly crap, but there are a few nuggets mixed in.

Thanks for the info on Blockbuster. I stopped at my local store after work today and picked up The Pledge and The Man Who Wasn't There for $4.99 each. Also picked up Identity for $7.99.

No luck in South Miami.
Manager had no idea what I was talking about.
Ended up pointing me to the used VHS. Silly!

Anger Management, Outland, Traffic, For the Love of the Game, and Boondock Saints for $5 each. If those are the dregs of other people's collection, I'll take them.

$5 for FTLOG is a great buy. Fantastic transfer/surround and good baseball footage.

Wish ours had some good titles (and was charging $4.99). I'm sure I would have looked harder if they weren't $10.

I do agree with you about 95% of the titles being the dregs - I had to visit 3 different stores to get those titles. I know the video transfer of Outland is supposed to be rather bad, but I love the film.

You might want to have a couple scanned and see if they are $4.99 - in the first store I visited, there was an entire endcap which hadn't been repriced, while the trade-ins in the main row had.

I checked my local blockbuster last night. The older trade ins were on an endcap for $4.99 but the more recent trade ins were on a table and mostly marked $12.99 which is really sad considering atleast 1/4 of them were those ones that came in the paper envelope from teh dollar store, with the envelope cut open and stuffed into one of their crappy cases. I couldn't believe they actually accepted those.

Stopped at another store last night, saw some decent stuff like Adaptation, The Grifters, and a non-CC Hard Boiled.

Thanks for the heads up.
Picked up The River Wild, Jerry Seinfeld's Comedian and Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 (Special Ed). All for $4.99 each. Funny thing was Hellraiser 2 was still in shrinkwrap, brand new.

I have seen a bunch of discs that were shrinkwrapped and looked brand new (Planet of the Apes, for example).
