Joe Sinnott has passed away

Just saw the message on Joe's Facebook page
It with great sorrow that we must announce the passing of Joltin’ Joe Sinnott on June 25th at 8:40am at the age of 93. He went peacefully with the knowledge that his family, friends, and fans adored him. He enjoyed life and was drawing up until the end. He always loved hearing from all of you and having your comments read to him. Each and every one of you were special to him.

The Sinnott family requests their privacy and understanding during this difficult time. Please send condolences to:

The Sinnott Family
27 Spaulding Lane
Saugerties, NY 12477

Thank you again for being such loyal and dedicated fans and friends to Joe. He considered all fans friends, and seeing you at cons and reading your messages was what kept him young at heart.

RIP Joe Sinnott
October 16th, 1926 - June 25th, 2020
Joe kept working until last year when he retired from doing the Spider-Man newspaper strip. He's one of the last great legends from Marvel's Silver Age.

Re: Joe Sinnott has passed away

Joe was, in my estimation, the greatest inker of all time. His bold, clean lines made any pencil artist look like a total pro, and made total pros look like legends.

He had a long, full life, and he was loved, respected, and admired by a whole lot of people. His legacy will live for centuries to come in the pages that he inked (too numerous to count).

He will be missed.

Had the opportunity to meet him in 2018 at the East Coast Comic Con. Always loved his work and he seemed to have worked with nearly all the classic Silver Age Marvel age characters at one point or another. RIP.
