Re: The Official Toys and Collectibles Thread
As a kid I always thought that my first exposure to comics were the Super Powers and the Secret Wars action figures. Checking my toy collection, I found my old Warlord, Hercules, Arak and Machiste action figures, which predates both Super Powers and Secret Wars by about 2 years. I also had the smaller version Sgt Rock figures, but they must be at my parent's home cause I can't find them in mine.

It's such a weird property but understandable since Remco was looking something along to compete with He-Man and Warlord's mythos perfectly fit in.

They've only done three so far, and I don't remember how quickly Unicron went up.
https://hasbropulse.com/collections/haslab
Unicron had more than 12,000 backers (at least that's what the site claims, there were only like 8000 with 24 hours to go so quite a surge) at 575 a piece.
Jabba's barge had like 9,000 backers at 500 a piece.

I think that with Unicron, they couldn't let it fail because not only did Cookie Monster fail to hits goal -- having two projects fail would have been a big black eye on the Haslab project -- but they had probably invested a lot of time and money into designing Unicron that they didn't want to lose.

I don't remember exactly but I do think Unicron might have me it's goal with the last second backers, but I think it was too close for comfort so they just extended it. But yeah, that was a huge investment for them. I forgot all about that Cookie Monster one, which goes to show how memorable it was.

NECA announced an Ultimate Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood. Looks pretty cool to me. Not my favorite entry in the series, but a cool look for Jason.
Also wondering if between this and the Scream Factory Blu-ray set if the lawsuit over the franchise has been settled. Before there wasn’t any new merchandise coming out, and now we have two announcements in a short period.

What would have been con exclusives are up on hasbropulse.com for "premium" members. I think regular preorders for everyone are tomorrow.
The only ones that sold out for today so far are the Cobra Commander figure (man did they underestimate demand for that line in general or what) and the Star Wars Heroes of Endor set.

The next Hasbrolab crowdfunded thingee is the Mandalorian Razor Crest for 3 3/4 inch figures. Comes with an exclusive Mandalorian but no baby yoda (unless it's a crowdfunded goal or something). $350
Hasbropulse is down right now because they are having their Pulsecon (in which they revealed, among other things, Marvel Legends Classics Thanos, Arcade, a BAF Stilt Man, 90's classic Gambit, 90's classic Rogue, and Firestar) so the link doesn't work right now.
edited to add: Here it is:

Got my orders in for the Hellfire Club set, Hellfire guard and Kang. Really excited for that villains wave. Arcade was at the top of my wish list and I'll take the new Dormmamu as well. I'm hoping for some other m.i.a. classic villains like Red Skull, Ultron, Strucker, mandarin, Zemo, etc. to fill out that wave.

I mean I like the McFarlane figures but they are intentionally out of scale with even previous DC lines and we get dozens of Batman.

Lots and lots of cool items on the Hasbro site, but I've let that go. I decided years ago I won't have them all, not even close, and i don't have the bankroll to go chasing. Basically, there will always be lots of cool toys I wish I could have and I won't but it's okay. Most days, it's okay.

Tonight's episode (10:00pm est) of Collector's Call on METV
MEET JEFF VIENS
"Over the past two decades, Jeff Viens has assembled an incredible collection of all things Lego, from vintage 1950s pieces, to modern Star Wars and Marvel-themed sets. Some of Jeff’s prized possessions include a 1958 wooden Lego toy boat; a rare town-plan set from the 1960s; and the world’s largest Lego trebuchet – which he built himself. We’re joined on this episode by Jeff’s girlfriend, Julie Blair, as well as Lego storeowner and fellow enthusiast, Jim Demer, who will set a value on Jeff’s collection. Jeff also surprises Lisa with a one-of-a-kind, custom-built set; and Jim has brought along a rare space-themed Lego set in hopes of making a trade with Jeff."

Re: The Official Toys and Collectibles Thread
It's just astonishing to me that Marvel Legends goes so deep into the property. Like you look at, say, Arcade, he's a goofy redheaded guy with a polka dotted bowtie, who in their right mind would release that at retail? Or a BAF of Stilt Man? Yet they know their audience and fans are rabid for more.

Superman is the focus of this Sunday 's(10:00pm est METV) Collector's Call.
MORGAN HAMBRICK
"Jim Hambrick’s Superman collection began with a lunchbox he received at five years old. Sixty years later, he has the world’s largest collection devoted to the Man of Steel — and a family-run museum in Metropolis, Illinois to showcase it! Lisa joins Jim’s daughter (and the museum’s current curator) Morgan for a super-survey of some of the collection’s standout pieces, including a 1950s Superman muscle-building set, Marlon Brando’s wig from 1978’s “Superman: The Movie,” and a Superman costume worn by Dean Cain on TV’s “Lois & Clark.” Jim Hambrick drops by long enough to tell the story behind an even more highly prized costume — worn by the first actor ever to portray the hero onscreen, Kirk Alyn. Rounding out the cast is “Collector’s Call” favorite Rob Klein, who Lisa has asked to put a value on the museum’s amazing inventory; Rob’s also brought a Superman rarity from his own collection — a muscle suit worn under the costume by iconic Superman George Reeves — to try to tempt Morgan into a making a trade."

Re: The Official Toys and Collectibles Thread
So the Transformers Studio Series line has been going strong for years now, basically bringing out "better" toys for the Bayverse/Bumblebee live action movies. They are taking a break from them to do the '86 cartoon movie line, and the first wave has such classics as Grimlock (with Wheelie), Hot Rod, Blurr, and Kup. the '86 movie is one of my absolute favorite movies and I'm really excited about the line.
But that's not what I'm here to talk about. Over the course of the last two years, they have been releasing the Bayverse Constructicons in the studio series line. I'm not a huge fan of the movies beyond the first one, but I was disappointed when the original movie line was coming out that they never released combining constructicons (other than a very small, basic set that wasn't generally released here). So these guys insanely engineered 8 figures over two years that combine into Devastator. There's an interview with one of the designers here:
https://hasbropulse.com/blogs/unboxe...ers-devastator
Since the early releases are probably impossible to find, they also are releasing a box set:
https://hasbropulse.com/products/tra...-69-devastator
There is a 9th constructicon that they released that is not in the box set and he talks about it in the interview as well. Like I said, not the biggest fan of the designs but pretty cool.

I don't really buy Funko Pops but came across one today at Target with Superman in a Santa suit. Had to pick it up. Apparently Funko has made at least six different DC characters in holiday outfits this season.

Collector's Call
eMEET ERIC PFEIFER
"After his first viewing as a child, Eric Pfeifer began collecting everything related to Star Wars. Now his collection is so vast – covering both floors of his house as well as its basement – that he holds regular “Pfeifer-Cons,” drawing people from near and far to come and view it. Eric shares with Lisa some of the highlights of his collection, including a braid of Chewbacca’s hair from the original movie; a swatch from Jabba the Hutt’s sail barge in Return Of The Jedi; 1980s Han Solo and Lando Calrissian action figures; and a billboard too massive to display anywhere but in Eric’s backyard. Eric is joined by his mom, Connie, who has nurtured his collection over the years. We’ve also brought along Jimmy Mac, a podcaster and Star Wars collector who will appraise Eric’s collection – and who’s managed to find a rare Star Wars item Eric doesn’t have, in hopes of making a trade with him."
