Also, only 1 X-Men title in October ("Death of X"). Lot of people are speculating that they're Fantastic Four-ing the X-Books.

1. I can see the doing that solely out of spite, actually. I don't think the X-books are the sales juggernaut (heh) they were twenty years ago, so they could slip them into mothballs without hitting their bottom line.

2. They've made such a godawful mess of the X-Men and related titles that they could probably use a break.

Probably just bringing back the existing books. Which is just as bad IMO.

Don't mind. However, she really would not be Iron Man and Tony will be back at some point regardless because that is how comics works. They made changes to Spider-Man I liked *extra powers* yet they changed it back for some reason, yet kept the bad.

New number ones again!?

Holy crap, I didn't realize Max Bemis was writing for Marvel Comics! I went to middle school and high school with him. He used to draw these strange, hilarious comic strips in class. That makes me so happy that he's getting to write for Marvel. I need to check out some of the stuff he's done.

The funny thing is, if you bill them as miniseries, nobody would buy them. But number one of an ongoing series, and then cut it short and reboot the numbering after 12 or so issues? Gold. We're so dumb as comic book buyers, I swear.

I hope they don't fuck up Foolkiller, the limited series was awesome.

That's why mini-series don't exist anymore unless they are epic mega-crossovers.

The adjectives are getting so overused. Unworthy Thor? Infamous Iron Man? The names just scream mini series and that's exactly what they'll be.

That's not true at all. Deadpool has numerous mini-series throughout the year. There has been others like The Worst X-Man Ever, Spider-Man and Silk, an Infinity Saga with Warlock and Thanos, and many others. Events have their own mini-series but Marvel does it outside of events every single month.

It's just Marvel copying DC a few decades later. ;)

And this kind of stuff - constantly rebooting and changing characters and continuity - is why I stopped buying comics 20 years ago.

I've saved a lot of money thanks to that. ;) Money I was able to put into DVD's and Blu Rays (and guitars)...

It does make me a little sad to see Marvel so rudderless for so long. For the first 3 decades of the Marvel era of comics they had a focus and stuck to it. In the mid 90's it all fell apart as continuity and consistency of character meant nothing to the new generation of writers and editors.
