Today in Comic Book History
I don't think we have one of these threads, forgive me if we do. But I was just looking at a list of today's birthdays in history and noticed two of my favorite creators.
Seth (Insert Mister X pic here) (Insert Peanuts collection design here) Kurt Busiek (Insert Marvels pic here) (Insert Astro City pic here) On cellphone, so searching and image posting are hard. |

Spoiler:

Re: Today in Comic Book History
For a known and successful comic book writer, Kurt has been fairly accessible on other forums in the past. DC should give him a book to do with as he pleases.

Re: Today in Comic Book History
Mike Mignola too!

Seth (Insert Mister X pic here) (Insert Peanuts collection design here) <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/_Rjy3c2YFZI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> He's a pretty nice guy. I randomly ran into him at my local used book store a year ago and we chatted about old Canadian cartoonist Doug Wright. |
Re: Today in Comic Book History
Also Cassandra Peterson was yesterday.

I bet that Elvira issue is a fun comic. I don't think I've ever come across that issue before, I am pretty sure I would recognize it in a bin.

Happy birthday to one of the greats, Will Elder.

Re: Today in Comic Book History
Also, a very happy birthday to the late great E. Nelson Bridwell. Like Will Elder, he also wrote for Mad Magazine, but he is most famous as a writer and editor for DC Comics. He created Secret Six and the Inferior Five, wrote for Superfriends and Superman Family and Creepy and Eerie; edited those awesome DC 100 Pagers; and was DC's first "continuity cop". Pretty much everything comic-related that I love or wish I could do, it was Bridwell.

Re: Today in Comic Book History
I enjoy those Super Friends comics. I wish they had reprinted them in color instead of black-and-white print.

Re: Today in Comic Book History
Pretty good spectrum of talent born today; first let's remember that some good stuff comes from overseas, like great Disney work from Romano Scarpa.
