So the question is should I sit at my computer until next Tuesday?

Thank you for the clarification OWJ.

Sorry if I wasn't clear before.

But yeah it would probably be best to sit at your computer for a week and just keep refreshing IST, just in case. You never know!

Amazon's price is actually pretty decent, 40% off. IST may well still beat them when they solicit, though.

It was cheaper for me to order Big Damn Sin City plus another item from InStockTrades than to order only Big Damn City from Amazon. So go InStockTrades, fuck Amazon, and thank you fellow DVDTalkers for the recommendation to use InStockTrades.

I couldn't resist this for $48 from IST. I saw a some pictures of it on another website and the book looks pretty solid.

I'm guessing Big Damn Sin City plus Dead Boy Detectives will be a popular combo this week at IST.

^An object placed on the desk would have been good for perspective, like maybe your head.

But the nerdgasm-bookshelf does provide a good relative size, thanks!

Not my pics, so I didn't really have a choice in the matter.

Re: Is Big Damn Sin City the best way to own all of Sin City?

Mine arrived today. First off InStockTrades does indeed package things better than Amazon. They also get things here much quicker. It took only 3 days.

Big Damn Sin City indeed. This thing is heavier than the hardcover dictionary I have. It's definitely a book you pick up with two hands. The paper is great quality in my opinion, and the pages appear to be both sewn and glued in.

I can't get over how much the actors in the movie looked like the characters on the page. I know Mickey Rourke had makeup on, but even Jamie King looked a lot like a Goldie and had more than just a passing resemblance. I don't know that I'll have finished all 1,000+ pages by the time Sin City 2 comes out, but now I'm even more excited for it.

Thought this was funny (no digital manipulation, BTW):

As big as a damn cinder block!

I just got the urge to build a college bookshelf out of copies of Big Damn Sin City.

I'm sure that thing is beautiful, but that's just... too big for me to read comfortably.

Are there any TPB or any soft cover books that encompass the whole run?

There were (I think slip-case editions), but they're out of print.

If one existed, you're still looking at a fat stack of paper that would only be marginally less large and bulky to read, even at standard trim. It would have to be about 200 pages bigger than the Walking Dead Compendiums. Might as well just stick to the individual TPBs or the individual digest sized TPBs if size is a concern.

Glad I waited. While I know the book is beautiful and would be a joy to read on paper, I'm happy with the full digital bundle including art book for $29.99 on sale at Dark Horse today. Less hernia-inducing.
