When I was looking to get rid of my collection, I donated a longbox of kiddie titles and random superhero stuff to the children's ward at my local hospital. They didn't hold much value or anything, but I know that they were appreciated.

^ I did the same when I purged a chunk of my collection in the early 2000s. I sorted out the Vertigo and mature stuff and gave the rest to a children's hospital. I also got rid of a lot of Phantom Menace toys at the same time.

You can donate and take a tax writeoff, probably the most lucrative option.

Unfortunately I think this company is like goodwill and some ceo will profit off your donation, but you do get a tax write off. There are other organizations, but just throwing the idea out there.
