Re: Major DC Comics Character...out of closet?
There was apparently a time when they published WW stories just because if they didn't, they would lose the license, though Busiek says that that era has long passed (this is why he had to right a Wonder Woman mini post Crisis, before Perez launched his WW).

And they did change her costume, to pants, for post-Flashpoint. They even sent out covers of Justice League and WW #1 with pants, and they changed it back before the comics actually came out. And let's just all agree to forget about JMS's version of pre-Flashpoint WW, shall we (and his pre-Flashpoint, walking-the-Earth self-righteous Superman run too).
It does hammer home that this is not your parent's (or heck, our) JSA. Which is a little weird, since i would think nostalgia is a main draw of the JSA and the Earth 2 books. Otherwise, why have a JSA of golden age heroes who are de-aged and no longer even predecessors of the current crop of heroes?
Oh, right, so they can make a GL gay without affecting the "main" GLs. Got it.

My guess is they changed Wonder Woman's costume for a second to appeal to the mythical female fanbase that would just go wild over superhero comics if superheroines had less sexier costumes. DC definitely toned down the sexiness of the costumes for many of their female heroes in the new 52, likely in some quixotic notion to expand the readership beyond men.

That is weird, especially with a lot of products such as cars and clothing that are done in an old retro design that a lot of people are into these days. You would think DC would embrace their history and market the golden age heroes as something from the past and not erase what has gone before. DC should watch marketing trends because this is definitely not what the general public is looking for if they want a wider audience.

Wait, Batman AND Superman? together? Or is it Luthor and the Joker?
Oh wait, this is the Legoverse. Superman still has his red trunks.
