Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

IDW started a Transformers sale for 'Shadow of Unicron,' which is fairly standard 50% off but it lasts a surprisingly long time until July 30th. I don't think I've ever seen a 2.5 month long sale before. I was tempted to buy something but the chances we'll see an overlapping coupon during this time seem like it's worth waiting out.

Comixology has a Marvel Silver Age Masterworks, but I own nearly all of them already thanks to the cheap sales.

Also an Invincible sale, which is my chance to get the last two volumes.

There's sort of sale on Crossed: 100 and a new Crossed series on Comic Cavalcade, including digital and physical books:

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Manga related on Comixology - as part of a creator featured sale through 5/21/18 that has volume 1 of series for $0.99 to hook new readers there are several seemingly standalone one shot graphic novels by Makoto Shinkai (?) discounted to $0.99 (not sure if this is intentional). These mostly seem like romance / slice of life but a few peaked my interest. I had heard a lot of positive about 5 Centimeters Per Second.

5 Centimeters Per Second (from $18.99, 470 pages):

Comixology e-mailed out an individualized 65% off Image comics coupon code yesterday afternoon - check your e-mails.

It you didn't get one my understanding has been that sometimes purchasing an item in one sale, or during a timeframe, is what triggers these codes to go out.

No current Image sales, but possible future stacking since the code is good all month.

An Epic announcement on the Comixology originals is to be announced soon -

https://www.comixology.com/comic-rev...ls-teaser.html

wonder what this could be. Any speculations?

My first thought was some hot creator, but this seems bigger than that. Perhaps pairing with Amazon Prime for TV series based on their content?

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Very large DC sale at Comixology/Amazon through 5/28. Prices for the new stuff aren't great as usual (like 50% off), but there are some nice bargains to be had on the larger collections, and I'll probably get some of the titles that weren't available during the Black Friday sale (prices here aren't as good as those were, alas) like SA Suicide Squad, BA Brave and the Bold, Tales of the Batman Gene Colan 2, etc., and the Celebration of XX years collections are $5.99.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Dark Horse is having a great “kids” sale, with prices much cheaper at DH than at Comixology. The Usagi Yojimbo ~600 page saga volumes are just $2.99 each. I had previously bought a bunch of singles and collections, but almost don’t mind wasting that money when the near complete saga can be had for about $20 total.

There’d need to be a Saga collection 8 and maybe 9 to get fully caught up. One could pay $2.99 for the several recent small collections or $.99 for all the singles, but think I’ll wait for future large collections.

I'm going for the small collections, I think. I already own up through 23. Do the larger collections cover any of the books beyond that?

Looks like you should buy the big volumes 6 and 7. They collect thru book 28.

Awesome, will do. To think I was excited for the small collections to be $4.50 during DH’s old Black Friday sales.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Maybe obvious to all by now but the code DH50 overlaps with the 'Young Adult'/Yojimbo sale on Comixology for another 50% off; making them and other titles even cheaper.

I've found with digital sales as a general rule it's best to wait till the end of a sale for purchases because their is often enough a cheaper deal or coupon that pops up

Edit: The 65% off Image coupon sent to some by e-mail does not overlap with the Distant Soil sale.

The Saga books are still cheaper at DH even after the extra 50%.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I went ahead and got the Yojimbo Sagas for $3.50-4.00 on comiXology. It’s worth the extra coins for me to have as much as possible on the same service.

If there a place in the forum to buy/sell/trade Marvel digital codes?

Yep, we have a thread here. Hasn’t been bumped for awhile. Let me search.
