Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I signed up for a free trial of Comixology Unlimited today. There are a ton of titles on there that I want to read, but was hesistant to buy Chew, Locke and Key, Hellboy, and The Goon. I'll gladly take any Unlimited recommendations if anyone has any for me.

There’s a Heroes of Indie Comics Bundle that’s kind of a hodgepodge.

Elf Quest collections (and Final Quest individuals) are one sale at Comixology; this stacks with the Dark Horse 50% off 'ECCC' code making Elf Quest stuff very cheap. The best discount, for example, is Elf Quest Complete v3 which retails for $21.99 and can be had for $2.50 after discount/coupon. The sales banner even encourages coupon code use.

I've always wondered about Elfquest but never read it in depth. This might be the time to jump in. Those original volumes are 400-700 pages each.

he types as he buys it all

Isn’t most of it free on the Pini’s website?

Edit to add: everything pre-2014 is free to stream online apparently

If you don't have any of Bendis' Jinxworld stuff they are offering the first issue to 5 of the series for free for a limited time to celebrate the move to DC.

Thanks! I went to the site on my ipad to try to replicate the reading experience, and it wasn't bad. On my home wifi connection, the pages were slightly sluggish to change, and of course I had to tap arrows instead of swiping. The browser tabs and stuff were a little distracting, and I'm not sure if it would resume my place, but it's definitely worth a look at least for sampling purposes. I think if I knew I was going to read the material more than once, I'd just buy it.

Doctor Strange sale expires Monday, 3/12. Interestingly, the $20 Werewolf by Night trade is only 99 cents like the singles. I already have it, unfortunately. But vol. 2 is the same price though not listed in the sale.

Crazy--looks like all recent Marvel collections are 99 cent, including Epics.

It’s part of a big new sale, hundreds of recent marvel collections are 99 cents each.

Comixology beating Amaz.., er, themselves, at their own game!

Oops, didn’t see this post David.

But yeah, just when we thought they’d never top the quarterly ~$2 collection sales at Amazon (Kindle/Comixology compliant), they go and do this.

If we wait another month will every Marvel book be a quarter?

But just noticed that Kindle has the same deal going on, so buy them there if you want the book in both formats for the same price. Just be careful, as some are kindle only and not comixology compliant.

Or buy them thru the DCBS Comixology portal to get 5% credit towards your physical orders.

Wow, Marvel digital seems not well. I guess it proves the point that you can always get stuff even cheaper if you're willing to wait. I've found myself purchasing cheaper trades because Im missing a few issues and considering purchasing an occassional collection where I already own all the titles (curse you legacy Star Wars and New Mutants).

And to think my big fear when they first had these deep marvel sales was that Comixology was losing the license...

Actually, if that happened how ticked off would everyone be...

Use code "READCOMICS" for an additional %15 off, which is rather nice.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Heads up that a few new release collections out today from Marvel are added to the $0.99 pricing; Avengers epic, Master of Kung Fu epic, Guardians, Cloak/Dagger. There is a chance additional trade released tomorrow will also be discounted so maybe check back.

If you’ve been sitting on a cart with a bunch of marvel titles in it, add code Marvel18 for b1g1free.

9 new collections added to the 99 cent sale, and code marvel18 makes them b1g1f.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I forgot to Marvel buy one get one free code and paid an extra $3 more than I could have for 1600 pages of content; not sure if I should be mad at myself for missing out on an 'exceptionally unbelievable' deal and just getting a 'never before been that cheap' one. I guess I'll just have to live with the 8 cents per issue I paid when I could have gotten in for 4 cents per issue.

Fingers crossed this triggers some kind of price war with other publishers.

Probably there will be a few more $0.99 trades tomorrow, if not next week.

At this rate, I won't be too surprised to see a Humble Marvel comics bundle appearing soon.

Wait, the 99c sale is still going on? Do you have a link? I thought it was long over.

The big sale is over, but this week's releases are that price.
