I have extra copies of the first two Dynamite bundles from Groupees. So if anyone missed them and wants them pretty cheap, let me know.

The limited four issue run from DC Vertigo. Remember in the film (have you seen Fury Road yet?) the female and little girl he sees in his visions that tell him that he let them down? They're in the last two issues of the comic book series. |

I haven't seen/read these, but typically love it when comics flesh out a film. |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
New freebie, another FCBD book.
https://www.comixology.com/Doctor-Wh...l-comic/204558 The weekly DC sale is Bombshells, spotlighting several DC heroines. The sale ends 8/17/15 and includes 170 (!) singles at $.99 each, although many are the digital Ame-Comi books always that price. https://www.comixology.com/Bombshells-Sale/page/7727 From Boom, a Robocop sale ending 8/13/15, 24 singles at $.99 each and a collection. A few of these were in the Boom Humble Bundle. https://www.comixology.com/Robocop-Sale/page/7728 From IDW, another X-Files Season 10 sale. The sale ends 8/17/15 and includes all 25 singles at $.99 each, two annuals at $1.99 and $.99, and 4 trades (collecting just issues 1-20) for $4.99 each. Be warned, IDW accounts no longer sync with Comixology, anything new you buy from IDW will not cross over between the two apps. https://www.comixology.com/The-X-Fil...Sale/page/7686 |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Nice. I can finally finish up X-Files Season 10 with #25 and this year's annual.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
To celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the first issue of Morning Glories, Image is giving away the first trade for free.
Pick it up on Comixology https://www.comixology.com/Morning-G...al-comic/14780 or you can get it directly from Image if you'd like. https://imagecomics.com/comics/relea...-better-future |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
I just put Morning Glories on my wishlist a couple of days ago. But I don't like collections so I'll wait for the individual issues to be on sale.

Digital only issues confuse me; seemingly they release 1/3 of a normal book with inflated page counts because panels are enlarged to full page at $0.99 for each portion then NEVER lower the price so there are tons of non-canon/trivial books (because comics are still primarily print no one wastes core canon plot on digital only) going for above market value ($2.99 per full issue when full print items can drop to $0.99) and never dropping in price. Other than day one sales (lower entry fee) I can't think of any obvious benefit for consumers to buy piecemeal digital only 'chapters' at higher back issue prices (unless the plot is really great). |

But apparently they sell well for DC, because they put out more than one a day. I've sampled a couple and enjoyed them, but as you said the price is a bit high for the amount of content. But if DC ever has a 50% off sale I'd buy some. |

Ah, no. I was just confused as to wether your post came from an earlier discussion or if it's something that's on sale. Thought I missed something, but you were just starting a new conversation then?

Sorry, yeah, just a discussion. I forget sometimes - and since this thread says "discussion" in the title I did not want to start a new thread just for what I wanted to post.
:) But then, I'm here so much I should probably never think that I missed anything..... :( Did Marvel do comic versions of the original Mad Max films? They seemed to do so many of those back in the 80s. |

No, that's great and I probably want more discussion here than anyone. But the way you brought it up I thought I missed a post.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Out of curiosity, which file format do you guys prefer when either backing up Comixology stuff or downloading various bundles? I don't even consider epub. PDF is probably the most universal, but it's often the largest file size. I tend to go with CBZ if available. That said, I've had problems with both PDF and CBZ in various readers. I can't seem to find a reader that works perfectly with all formats. I also haven't really looked into quality concerns to see if one format vs. another generally has better quality.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
I usually download in PDF format (no particular reason); but haven't found any great Android readers.
|
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Is CBZ file size less than whatever comixology uses? Because I'm constantly out of space, I wouldn't mind converting a series or two to CBZ if it'll save some space.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
So I've heard Batwoman goes off the rails at some point, is it still worth picking up the new 52 run?
Also there's some kind of DC trade sale, relatively minor at 25% or so off, but they do include digital-only bundles of stuff like Injustice. Not sure if that's a good deal compared to the physical trades, but this is the only time I've seen them on sale (because they never go down below their regular 99c) nvm, if you buy the trades at amazon, it's still a little cheaper, even for the first season which has the biggest comixology discount. For a few bucks more than the digital versions you can buy the HC. |
