I already own them all too, but I think perhaps we had to pick up a few of them in the BOGO great wallet disaster of 2014.

The Marvel BOGO sale was just 10 weeks ago on February 20, 2015... I'm still paying it off. Funny how time works like that.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Here's another Marvel Unlimited code: MEMBERMAY

This code gets you 50% off the recently released graphic novel Avengers: Rage of Ultron. That brings the price down from $25 to $12.50.

Usual disclaimer stuff: The code is supposed to work for just Marvel Unlimited members, so it may or may not work if you aren't one.
Also, it says it should only work at the Marvel.com storefront, but it appears to work at Comixology too.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I'm so tired of the same Marvel/DC sales week after week. I wish they would at least have an Icon/Max Marvel sale or Vertigo DC sale to mix it up. I can't take anymore Avengers tie in sales or Convergence tie in sales anymore.

Comixology sale from Humanoids on Jodorowsky's series The Technopriests, all eight books 2/3 off at $1.99 each, sale ends 5/11/15. Anyone here read it before? I can't remember if I've read The Incal or any of his stuff yet.

^ I missed five issues in the BOGO, so I guess I'm complete now.

Also, yet another sale on God is Dead. Reviews are pretty bad, anyone read it?

Civil War sale is live for a full week (ending 5/17); I wonder what Marvel will pull on Friday if they have an overlapping sale (maybe they will reboot the collections sale).

Edit: Maybe Marvel is going through it's Secret Wars tie-in worlds/series with weekly sales like DC has been with Convergence.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Gave Auteur a try. God is Dead started off good, but it probably should have been wrapped up at this point. If you are going to pick up anything, get the Alpha and Omega issues. They have 3 stories in each by guest writers including Alan Moore. They are big issues that went for $5.99, so 99 cents is a steal. Comixology has a 32 issue bundle for 29.99 so that is even better than the 99 cent sale.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

It seems odd that Marvel just added a lot of the missing Operation Galactic Storm (1990s Avengers) tie-in issues, even the What If issues.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I saw this posted over at Slickdeals.

One Free Month of Marvel Unlimited - Ultron Promo - Ends 5/17/15

Hey everyone, If you signed up like I did for the Star Wars Marvel Unlimited promo last month there is another one going on right now that will allow you to get another free month. Hurry though it looks like this one ends on 5/17. I was going in to cancel the auto renew and noticed the promo. I cancelled and then signed up again at the link below. No problems.

Marvel Unlimited Ultron Promo - http://marvel.com/ultron

Use code ULTRON at checkout*

Some fine print - "*First Month Free Offer valid from 4/29/15 12:01AM EDT to 5/17/15 11:59PM EDT. Auto-renewal and other terms apply, please see below for more details."

So it does require a credit card to sign up and enrolls you in auto renew just set a reminder for the day before next month.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Does anyone pay full price for digital comics? I would love to use the subscription feature on Comixology, but only if they offered a discount for doing so. I can get the print version through dcb and other services for 25 to 50% off, I can't understand why I couldn't get the same deal on a digital version.

Because B&M comic stores would revolt. DCBS and other online services are basically using volume and a thinner margin to give you discounts that local stores won't match, but at least at this point the ordering process is too onerous (ie: Previews) for a casual buyer. But if Marvel and DC did instant subscriber digital discounts through comixology... Stores already complained when they went day to date (really, I think you can get most stuff at the stroke of midnight, earlier than B&Ms open) and the dollar discount you get on most DC comics after a month.

I'm sorta bummed on the Secret Wars sale. I just bought earlier this week, when it looked (to me) like they weren't planning on putting it on sale. lol

Now I feel guilty for being upset that I bought them during the BOGO sale and paid a penny more per issue than I could have if I waited.
