Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Today only the enhanced digital version of Archer and Armstrong #1 is free (again apparently since I already owned it).

Also today only, they have the first trade of Grant Morrison's New X-Men on sale for $3.99. This tempts me. I've never been a huge X-men fan but I tend to like Morrison's stuff.

Also today only, they have a Fall of the Mutants sale. 13 issues of Mutant Massacre and 31 issues of Fall of the Mutants for 99 cents each.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Today start a three day sale on Image's Thief of Thieves; all fifteen issues for 99 cents each or the two collections for $5 each.

Today starts a three day event called DC's Forever Evil sale. It's not the current series, strangely, but seventy-seven different issues from the Final Crisis era focused on villains; all 99 cents each.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I am always impressed with BOOM! sales and others by the smaller publishers, where they discount the titles right up to a month or two prior to the current issue. what a great way to catch up. Getting all of Adventure Time.

Also picked up Spider-men 1-5 and Reign, and read Reign all at once. I'll skip Scarlet Spider, because it's not a limited series and I'll never pick up the rest at cover price.

That was a good story. Probably my favorite thing that Marvel did that year.

Today starts a two day sale on Tales Designed to Thrizzle from Fantagraphics by Michael Kupperman. The first issue was (is?) free and is hilarious. I'm picking up both collections unless the print versions are cheaper at Amazon.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Today starts a three day G.I. Joe sale. It's the recent stuff from IDW, which includes what I guess are reprints from older Marvel books.

Also today starts a week long Road to Unity sale from Valiant. It includes 207 books from both the 90s and the recent restart. Anyone read Valiant recently?

I've enjoyed most of the recent valiant I've read. Hasn't blown me away, but has been enjoyable.

Yeah, I've been picking up stuff during the Valiant sales, and it's all been good (though I've never been a big fan of Shadowman).

edited to add: wow, that's a ton of recent books on sale in that Valiant sale.

^That is kind of interesting to see that. Although, I think there was a Penny Arcade or two included with some of the Humble eBook bundles. I guess the bundles are just going to get more and more diversified.

Tempted by the first few issues of Friendly, since I'm a big fan of 'Ringo. How was that run? (I see that there was a fill in by Cruz, which dampens my enthusiasm a bit).

Too late for either us of now, sale-wise, but I just read issues 1 and 5 (free in previous sales) and enjoyed them.

Why are they restricted to kindle devices? Is it particular to these titles?

Originally, the kindle comics were only on kindle devices, but some kind of lawsuit/agreement got them to adapt their apps so that, at least on ios, you can view comics.

Oops, nevermind. I'm dumb and misread the drop down on the page. They're fine on the IOS and Android apps. Editing my comment...
