I don't see why they wouldn't put everything there.

Wouldn't bother me at all. I'm not a renter.

That's a great deal on The New 52: Future's End!. I hope it gets matched on Amazon or Comixology. Unfortunately I don't have a device that can use Google Play without unlocking. I also wouldn't mind reading the Hip Hop Family Tree. The others have all been on sale on Comixology before, I believe.

You can get half off your first order at Comixology using the code CBR. The downside is that it has to be your FIRST order. Or you could create a new account, but that seems like a pain.

I wonder if it works with sale prices?

If so, it may be tempting to create a second account for a huge sale someday.

The CBR code for 50% off your first order does work with sale prices; at least in the case of IDW's Twilight Zone sale.

Surely the 'CBR' code is time limited to prevent exploitation.

^ Ends tomorrow I think I saw.

New sale at Comixology from Boom on Adventure Time ends 1/5/14; 67 singles and 9 collections.

https://www.comixology.com/Adventure...XNlbA&list5051

New sale at Dark Horse on Conan and Red Sonja ends 1/4/14, 61 singles. Be careful, as some are Dynamite so you may own them via Comixology and/or Humble Bundle.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I haven't read it...yet.

I jumped on the sale though, since I love X-men and the premise just sounds crazy (1960's X-Men coming to modern day to fight Cyclops, who has sorta gone rogue)

I read a few issues mid-series from Battle of the Atom through Trial of Jean Grey; the time travel aspects get tired quickly in my opinion and while the premise of the original X-men youths in modern day is novel it feels awkward as the basis for a 4 year+ ongoing series (like an initially epic plot stretched too far). As a team X-men book it worked well pulling in social dynamics, teen agnst, and members seeing their future through youthful eyes. The writing was solid enough playing on expectations but often beating you over the head with the time travel aspects and the newer X-men books seem a little too self referential filled with mutant politics.

...I'm considering a purchase myself.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Thanks guys. I see I own a few issues from earlier freebies or sales, so perhaps I'll sample at least that #1 and the Now (restart was it?).

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

My laziness saved me $500. Was going to create a new account and buy a bunch of bundles, using that 50% off code, and gift the order to myself; but the code expired yesterday I guess.

Ended up "investing" in the All New X-men sale at the last minute, curse my feeble willpower.

Edit: I see it now; thanks Trevor (below).

All I know about gifting at Comixology is that at checkout there is an option to gift the order.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Yet another new DC Essentials freebie at Comixology, the new (?) Joker #1 from Brian Azzarello.
https://www.comixology.com/DC-Comics...hEZXRhaWxMaXN0

Stumbled upon this possibly new freebie. The pretty cool and 71 page DC Holiday Special from 2009.
https://www.comixology.com/DC-Holida...aXN0L0lzc3Vlcw

And this looks like a good price; $.99 for a 201 page horror anthology.
https://www.comixology.com/Twisted-D...XBoaWNOb3ZlbHM

Sale at Dark Horse on Twilight Zone, 11 books at $.99 per. Same books that were on sale at Comixology last week.

Thanks! Got the Joker. The Holiday thing was already in my collection so it must have been a freebie sometime in the past.

Image Comics is doing its second Humble Bundle. If you go up to $18, you get a ton of stuff:

How does that work? You download everything to your computer then upload it to your device and use a reading app?

They're DMR free PDFs, CBRs and another format (CBZ?). On my iPad I just click to open the file in a browser, then download it to iBooks (or whatever reader you want to use).

Same on Android devices; you can just download the PDF and open it in whatever software... very painless. If unsure one could purchase a lower value contribution to try things out and increase to whatever amount later.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Today at the Image Expo, Todd McFarlane announced that the entire back catalog of Spawn is going to be available digitally soon.

He said that he was holding out on selling the series digitally after hearing complaints from comic stores when he was first thinking of doing so. Since then, pretty much everyone else has jumped on digital sales, and the industry didn't collapse like they feared, so he said he'll go ahead and join in.

So later this month, when Spawn #250 releases it will also be available on Comixology and any other platform where Image titles are sold. He said that they have provided all #249 previous issues of Spawn to Comixology, and Comixology hopes to have them ready to post on the same day.
