Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
I'm kinda surprised they didn't include Flashpoint in that Multiversity sale, not that I would have bought any of it anyway.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Valiant is now offering its book at DMR-free downloads at Drive Thru Comics, which I've never used. But in case someone wants the option.
The first issue of a bunch of recent Valiant stuff are free on the site. http://comics.drivethrustuff.com/ |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
I wish they would have included all the Kingdom Come stuff besides the main series. Bunch of other stuff that tied into it including some good JSA issues.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Dark Horse has changed the way they do their freebies. They just sort of show up as in your library, you don't have to 'purchase' them anymore. This probably means that they won't be in your account if they ever raise the price or remove them. A new freebie today:
https://digital.darkhorse.com/profil...thout-warning/ New sale on a big Sin City bundle. All seven collections and the art book for only $29.99; I couldn't resist so I think I'll sell my mostly unread trades. https://digital.darkhorse.com/profil...-megabundle-1/ |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Dark Horse also has a flash bundle on their Strain books. 22 books for $9.99. Wish I had waited, picked up the first 21 for $.99 each over the last few sales.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
I'm sort of on the fence with Hack/Slash. Has anyone here read it? Is it any good?
I have no idea where to start. It looks like digital availability of the pre-Image issues is sort of a clusterfuck. It appears I'd have to buy the issues on Devil's Due's storefront, but they don't actually sell them there, they just have buttons directing you to buy them on other sites. They have buttons to buy on Comixology...but those are dead links. Searching Comixology shows that the Devil's Due issues aren't on the site at all. Then the Amazon buttons take me to the wrong issues (when those buttons aren't dead links, that is). All the other purchasing options are hit or miss, like Issue 23 might be available on iBooks, but then Issue 24 isn't. Seriously, what the hell? |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Get Hack Slash My First Maniac which is the first 4 issue mini series. Also on sale for 99 cents each. It is a bloody horror with a bit of dark humor. If you like female protagonists that are strong, then this is a pretty fun series.

Also, while checking out I noticed Comixology has added a "Pay with Amazon" button. Edit: And they started charging tax... :( |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Dark Horse is running a 99 cent sale on their Black Sky books. I'll probably give a few a try.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
There's a free Vamplets graphic novel on Comixology. Seems to be for kids, I don't know anything about it.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
I ended up biting on the Hack Slash bundle/My First Maniac and a couple of the Elseworlds titles that were on sale. Gotham by Gaslight is a favorite, so a digital copy to read wherever for 99 cents? Okay. Red Son was one I was meaning to get to some day, so $2.97 seems like a nice deal there too.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
I read the two Hack/Slash freebies and they were ok. Looking at my backlog of classic stuff to read or re-read I should skip lighter fare like this, so hopefully I'll resist.
Picked up a bit of the Multiversity sale but am hoping to find that iTunes giftcard I have laying around here somewhere before I buy the rest. |
