I hear you. I didn't get burned on Fairy Tail like you did since I can at least ebay my physical copies, but I am now feeling gun-shy on the sale! I think we will probably be safe on stuff that isn't really popular and long. Maybe.

In the last couple of months they've added large chunks of Alpha Flight, Marvel Fanfare, Power Pack, X-Force, and Spider-Man 2099 among others. This past week was mostly 90's Guardians of the Galaxy and Cable.
Is there a list as to what and when they've added stuff to the database?

The app always has a list of what is new that current week. On the website you can go to the release calendar page and search past weeks (or months) for what was added. The website sucks and is painfully slow, but the info is all there. I usually just get the updates from the Marvel Masterworks forum. They have a thread there which tracks new additions.

Weak sale from DC on Young Animals books; $1.99 = no sale.

Another sale on the great Letter 44, so caught up on the latest issues.

I'm tempted by Letter 44, Trevor.

Linewide IDW sale, 55% off, code IDW17, through 7/24. I assume it stacks with the titles that are already discounted.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I searched a bit, but couldn't find anything to spend that coupon on. Between what I already own and instocktrades prices, I couldn't find a single deal.

But the new Kirby/Eisner Humble Bundle is a great deal.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Maybe it's petty but I'm annoyed Dark Horse won't port DH store purchases to Comixology and visa versa so it makes me hesitate when they do have sales. That and I have to cross reference what I own on one service or another. They have some great titles so I'll eventually get over it. Just re-discovered that ai have Fear Agent on DH so looking forward to digging into that (purchases from the Cyber Monday 60%+ discount including bundles glory days got a little hazy).

Yeah, it sucks that they won't merge, and that the 60% annual sales appear to be over. But for me, at least I bought almost everything back in those glory days; and I refuse to buy any DH books at Comixology, so I don't have the issue of remembering what's where.

But they do still have great bundle deals occasionally. They have a great Strain bundle right now.

A couple of the daily freebies looks pretty fun; Snickers and KFC books, both DC.
https://discountcomicbookservice.com...om/free-comics

The monthly freebies from Marvel have cycled, so you might get at least 4 new books by hitting "add all" here.
https://discountcomicbookservice.com...omics/page/175

Huge new Marvel sale
https://discountcomicbookservice.com...ale/page/15640

includes something slightly unique, or at least pretty quick to hitting a sale. The deluxe versions of the Monsters Unleashed mini-series include bonus material of all the pages in pencils, inks, and colors. So each of the five issues are about 100 pages and 99 cents.

Curiously what is the 'Discount Comic Book Service' portal you're going through? Does that offer some sort of benefit beyond access through Comixology itself?

It gives you some store credit at dcbs if you have an account there. It's basically the comic store portal comixology allows for all comic stores to get a (small)piece of the purchases, and dcbs just gives some of it back.

Yep. I can't find any negative in using the portal, and it gives me 5% back on all my purchases, into my DCBS account. You can also do it for Instocktrades. I assume DCBS gets 5% as well. I've looked into a local store's portal, but they kept the entire 10%.

The other positive of using the portal is that is has the additional page of free books, adding them as they appear each release day. I used to have to go thru the new releases every single day to catch all the freebies, this is a ton easier.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Thanks for the tip on the link, though my IST shopping has dropped off a lot other than new-release omniboo. They sent me a past-shopper discount last week, and there was nothing I wanted. But I might as well use that link.

Dark Horse coupon expires end of day today. I bought a lot of stuff off my wish list, including the Joe Kubert Tarzans, Conan Omnibus, Serenity 4, and Archie vs. Predator. I'm tempted to get the other Serenity volumes and ditch my HCs because I really don't need those cluttering up my life anymore.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

^ Yeah, as far as I know the credits never expire, so everyone might as well earn them at some site. Even if you think you're digital only, you might want to buy a book someday, and DCBS and IST have everything at 35-50% off.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I noticed on a couple DC comics I bought last week that they are now including a digital copy like Marvel.

Does anyone know if this is going to be ongoing and line wide or just a few select titles as a test?

It's linewide. All the monthly $3.99 titles iirc.

The DC digital codes are ongoing but only on select titles, I think there are about 15 series that include digital codes.

I think it's all the monthly titles, isn't it? They announced it around the time Marvel changed their system, before the outcry had them change it back.
