RIP Moebius

French artist Jean Giraud, aka Moebius has died. He was best known for the Lt. Blueberry series (a western) and his sci-fi stuff.

Rest in peace, Moebius.

RIP

I love the Blueberry comics!

Re: RIP Moebius

I admit I was not as familiar with Jean "Moebius" Giraud as most, but I always enjoyed THE FIFTH ELEMENT, which relied heavily on his fantastic concept designs for the costumes, production design and sheer madness of its universe. Rest in peace, Moebius. Not many graphic designers get to go by a fancy nickname and get taken seriously.

This one hits close to home. Moebius was my favorite comic book artist. He will be sorely missed.

Bleh... terrible news.

We've lost two greats in a such short span of time... :(

I can't remember the name of the strip right now but I really liked his series with the guy on the flying pterydactal (sp) in an alien world. Great stuff.

One of the all time greats. RIP

I hope this means we'll get some (or all) of his untranslated works in English now.

I wouldn't hold my breath, if the rumors I've read are true.

And mine, as you can tell from my user name (Major Grubert is the leading character of his improvisational scifi masterpiece The Airtight Garage).

RIP.

What have you heard?

Re: RIP Moebius

:rip: I loved his work, although most of it remained in my "to read someday" list. I vaguely recall being introduced to the Blueberry stories through some Epic graphic novels, but I may be off.
