He looked a lot better before the surgery. He looked like a dude before surgery, and now he looks feminine. Superman isn't supposed to be feminine.

One of the problems is that he looked almost nothing like Superman to begin. The plastic surgery doesn't look that bad, considering he had to change his whole ethnic identity to look like Superman. But now he looks less like a human and more like a plastic doll. A somewhat similar effect to Michael Jackson in his later years. He obviously has serious issues to go that far.
