The hypocrisy and double standard are in the discussion because Kirkman has absolutely no problem writing and putting out a comic book with scenes of violence and blood and gore which would make EMT's blanche, but when it comes to being just as explicit when it comes to sex and the showing thereof, he pussies out and draws the curtain while screaming "HEY LOOK!!! OVER THERE!!!! (Points frantically) ALLEN THE ALIEN IS EATING SOMETHING GROSS!!!!"

It's not a Kirkman double standard, it's an American double standard in general. People are more accepting of violence than sex. As it is, the book can sit on the shelf for anyone to pick up. The book you describe would be bagged and kept behind the counter.

Since you don't specify precisely what 'those' words are, your question is obviously an uber fail lame-o attempt at hipster sarcasm and post ironic irony as well as unanswerable.
Come back when you actually specify some words, rather then barfing out generalizations that cover ever goddamn word in the universe.

If only Kirkman had put nudity in it, it would've been out by now...

There's a new Guarding the Globe ongoing series coming out this fall (I think that's the timing), maybe they're holding this collection to coincide with the new series.

I just saw TPB 16 in my LCS and was pretty sure I hadn't bought it yet. Sure enough, I hadn't, and it's backordered on Amazon. I shoulda got it at the LCS.
You'd think Amazon would have wanted to tell me about it since I'd bought most of the TPBs and UCs there but what do I know.

I didn't even know there was a volume 7 hardcover...
Also, Comixology sale on Invincible right now, basically 99c per issue, cheaper for collections.

#16 was great. Though I'm still a bit wrong for this medium, as I don't enjoy being left wanting more over and over again.

Re: Invincible Compendium: 2000+ pg of Invincible goodness
So I read the latest Invincible deluxe HC. It took me a while because I only read Invincible once a year, and I like to go back and re-read the entire series when a new one comes out so I can remember everything. It's to this book's credit that it rarely feels like a chore (though I still think the way Kirkman writes dialogue is a bit too wordy). And every time I finish, I lament that I'll have to wait another year to get more of the story (but I'm not going back to floppies... for the first year or so I was getting the floppies, the trades, and then the HC).
The whole Viltrumite concept has always felt "Dragonball Z" to me, but the war was great, and Kirkman sure likes his guts.
Now off to order the Guardians of the Globe tpb, which I'm assuming happened during the war, but back on Earth?
