Most of the ones I purchased I display, but it depends on space.

Re: Comic Conventions

That's a great picture with Ming-Na Wen! I'm sure you're gonna have it framed, no doubt.
Nice to put a face to the name as well, being that you're one of the more prolific posters at this forum.

Appreciate you revealing yourself here.
Not an easy thing to do I expect.

I haven’t been to a big Con in a long long time.

No biggie. I know many here are self conscious and anti social and prefer to stay anonymous, so I totally understand.

I had a great time today and it was good to be around other fans even in a mask.

Hm. I may need to consider this next year. Although I hate L.A. and hate crowds.

Re: Comic Conventions

So I bought a ticket to attend another small con in the Los Angeles area on April 16th. It will be in Burbank at The Hollywood Show

https://www.hollywoodshow.com/default/celebrities/

Ticket was only $25

There's a few people in the guest list that I hope to get a photo and autograph with. Mainly Sofia Milos, Constance Marie, Gail O'Grady and maybe Kim Delaney or Lea Thompson. Lea Thompson is obviously the more popular choice since she's popular from Back to the Future. We'll see about time and money. But, I saw most of the autos aren't too expensive at $30-40 each.

But, I am determined to meet Sofia Milos. Been a fan of hers since CSI Miami. Gorgeous Italian actress and gets hotter with age. She's in he mid 50s now.

Damn, that's quite the list. You have a small BTTF contingent, 7-Mary-3 and 4, as well as what would have been a nice CSI: Miami duet had Eva LaRue not cancelled. And cheap autographs is a plus. Lloyd seems to be the highest at $100, and Thompson and Wilson are $60 each for the BTTF crew. CHiPs boys are $80 for the pair. Wish this was closer to me, but it makes sense that it is in Burbank.

Re: Comic Conventions

Went to the Hollywood Show in Burbank, CA today and got a few photo ops and autographs

Constance Marie from the George Lopez show and Switched at Birth. Gorgeous and super nice

Sofia Milos from CSI Miami. She was the main reason I went. Love her and her business manager gave me a good deal that included 2 signed photos and a photo op.

Got Lea Thompson to sign my Back to the Future 4K set. I had to pass on the photo op. I was running out of money

I couldn't get everyone I wanted due to limited funds, but it was a nice and fun little visit.

Christopher Lloyd has the longest line. Same goes with Danny Trejo.

I can't go to these kind of shows too often, but if there is someone I want to meet, I'll try to make the drive. It took me an hour in traffic to make it to Burbank from where I live.

Re: Comic Conventions

Those are some awesome pictures DJariya Thanks for sharing! I was always a fan of Constance Marie since I saw her in Selena. Ming Na Wen seems like a real cool person. Makes me like her even more.

Re: Comic Conventions

Just booked my ticket for the D23 Expo in September at the Anaheim convention center. The last D23 was held in 2019 and was cancelled 2 years in a row because of the pandemic, but now it's back.

Going on Friday September 9th, which is the 1st day. Saturday is sold out.

If you're unfamiliar with D23, here is the highlight reel from the last one in 2019. They will announce all the big Marvel, Star Wars and Disney news and have tons of exhibits and merch and toys and such. It's basically a massive Disney convention.

Re: Comic Conventions

Anyone going SDCC this year?
My badges should be here Friday but still no mention how the whole Covid thing is going to be handled.

https://www.comic-con.org/cci/covid-19-faq

In an effort to create a gathering that accommodates our stakeholders safely, in addition to following current healthcare and governmental guidelines, everyone attending Comic-Con will be required to wear an approved face covering regardless of vaccination status. Face coverings should completely cover the nose and mouth, fit snugly against the sides of the face, and not have any gaps. For more information and requirements on acceptable face coverings, please click here.

In addition to wearing an approved face covering, you will be required to provide verification of full COVID-19 vaccination status or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours. SDCC reserves the right to modify requirements or limits for attending or participating in activities.

Re: Comic Conventions

I read all that a while ago, but what is the process. Will they do wristbands? Will we have to show proof of vax or negative est every day?
Like how is this all going to go. They haven't said anything. Is there a tent where you have to get a stamp of approval or what.

Re: Comic Conventions

Had the Washington State Summer Con last weekend, much preferred to the larger Emerald City Comic con. I like getting the show poster signed by attending artists and framing. Kevin Eastman, Simon Bisley, Ken Lashley, Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Ron Lim and others on the comics side. Other guests included William Shatner, Ian McDiarmid, Ray Park, Robert Patrick and a few others. Only around in this incarnation a few years but getting better and better and small enough to actually enjoy

Holy fucking shit. This is that anime expo in Los Angeles. If you still have anxiety about large crowds or COVID, this will give you a heart attack
