Does anybody understand what is going on with this book? It was supposed to be released on November 25. I ask the comic book stores and they have no release date info. What's going on with it???

I think Mark Evanier said there were some film issues, or something like that.

"The book has been delayed because of a problem with the film for several stories we want to reprint. The problem is solvable but it's going to take a few weeks or months. Once it's solved, the book will be rescheduled.

Other comics stick in a reprint when they can't get a new story done in time. Only Groo has more trouble with its reprints than with its new stories. "

That was in October. Last week he said:

"Still stalled while we try to find the negatives. "

I ordered this when it was solicited through DCBS. Was wondering what happened to it. This was one of the 4 or 5 comics my friend gave me when I was a little kid, that got me into comics. I haven't read Groo in years so I'm curious to see if it still holds up.

I'm expecting mid-2010 according to Major Joe's post...

Never knew about this release before now, but I'll be getting it for sure. I loved Groo growing up.

It is funny you said that because I thought the same thing, I remember this being one of my first comics as well. Sometimes these sorts of things, remembered from childhood, can be very disappointing when you pick them up and try to relive them. It is rarely what you remember.

I haven't read Groo in years. Used to love it. This is a must buy as any fool can plainly see.

I hadn't read Groo since the 1980s at the end of my comic collecting days (turns out what I read was most of the first year of the Marvel/Epic run) but after getting my Sony Reader, I somehow got caught reading them again, reading every issue published (around 150, give or take) over the period of a few weeks. (Oh, find 'em yourself!)

Any one have any idea on this one? I'd love to see it someday.....

Maybe Groo is in charge of publishing it.

Seems like awfully good money to be made by Sergio. Either he has a huge amount and more isn't important to him or he won't make much off of it.

Actually Argones could give a fuck about it. He has been quoted numerous times as saying about Groo:

Wow, what an asshole. Maybe people might wanna read it again.

It should be noted that the quote from Argoness is nearly 20 years old, but even if it were from yesterday, why exactly does the sentiment it states make him an asshole? If you love th comic book and think it is the BEST. THING. EVAR!!!!!!, then why didn't save every single issue? Why didn't you takle some personal responsibilty for the first time in your life?

Geez, take it down a notch, Dick Van Dork.

Some people may have only read a few issues (like me) or just enjoy Sergio's other work and want to check it out from the beginning. There are also a lot of potential fans who were born after those issues came out.

I'm not sure holding on to Groo counts as personal responsibility. If it does, does my run of Sleepwalker earn me any?
