I think we'll ultimately get a standalone Miracleman adaptation for some channel or venue. I think it would 100% be guaranteed if this were a DC property. Disney looks more open to adult fare now that Daredevil and Punisher are slowly being incorporated into the live-action stuff.

Is was broken in the Key Collector app. I already read the issue and that page is in. Out of curiosity, i texted a friend in the company that confirmed there are plans for Miracleman for next year as of now. Of course, this has happened before and plans have been cancelled due to legal issues or delayed due to the pandemic. It was heavily rumored that Miracleman was supposed to come back last year after being teased in the Marvel 1000 issue and plans got cancelled/delayed due to the pandemic

It's so disheartening that it's been twelve years since Marvel acquired Miracleman (and six years since they reprinted through "The Golden Age"/#22) and we still haven't gotten any new Miracleman comics from Neil Gaiman and Mark Buckingham. :(

The only new stuff we got from that continuity was the Annual with the Grant Morrison story. In retrospect, it's strange that odd little footnote in the character's history that very nearly lost and forgotten is the only thing that's seen print.

https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/All-N...Annual_Vol_1_1

It contains a Kid Miracleman story written as a spec script by Grant Morrison in the 1980s that was never published until now, illustrated by Joe Quesada. Also has a brand new story by Peter Milligan that's illustrated by Mike Allred.

I heard 2 things about the Gaiman and Buckingham run. The first is that Marvel won’t release the series until the work is completely done. They don’t want to reprint the last several issues and leave the story hanging for years. The other story I heard is that the legal issues are more complicated than what Marvel executives thought. Since Marvelman/Miracleman rights reverted to the creators once Eclipse shut down, some of these creators or their estate have not signed off on Marvelman/Miracleman being completely a Marvel property. From a legal standpoint, any concept or character that was created by any of these creators at any point of their run needs to be purchased by Marvel before being used.

I’m pretty surprised they haven’t done an Original Creator omnibus yet. They’ve already reprinted all of those smaller issues in hardcovers, right?

They must not have sold what Marvel wanted. The hardcovers all ended up at Ollie's for pennies on the dollar.

The Marvelman Classics hardcovers sold horribly. Honestly, the Anglo stuff is pretty bad as it’s just a bad knockoff of Captain Marvel and the Marvel Family. That material is pretty outdated and too hokey for comic fans. People can find those reprints for $3-4 dollars.

It seems pretty foolish to have lead with the old reprints. People who had been hearing how great Miracleman was for years got their first taste of the character with black and white Captain Marvel knock offs.

At that point, the Anglo stuff was released first because the Eclipse run wasn’t legally cleared for re-release due to the convoluted ownership of Miracleman
