Yeah, I enjoyed it as a fun "future of the Marvel universe" storyline. I wish the final issue would come out already!

Today was Marvel's 70th Anniversary. I picked up the Marvel Comics #1 reprint they released for the occasion and found it pretty neat.

Anyone pick up the new adventure comics with superboy?
Did the last page of the Legion back-up story confuse anyone? I haven't read the FC: Legion mini yet, I'm waiting on it to come, so maybe something in that would have helped but... |

I will say that Legion of 3 Worlds was probably my favorite Legion story in over a decade, and one of my top five of all time, so I have high hopes for where he'll take the team. |

What was the deal with that? It was clearly the original scripts and layouts, but I couldn't tell what was going on with the art. Was it simply recolored? Re-inked? Completely new pencils? Does anyone know?

I've read all the Scott Pilgrim that's out. This is probably my favorite comic. In fact, it's the only one I started re-reading almost as soon as I finished the last one.
There have only been a couple of times when I've fallen this hard, this quickly for anything. It's like when I watched the second season of The Venture Bros. that first time: it's exactly what I wish I could make if I had any talent at all, and it feels so intensely tied to my sense of humor, my sensibilites, etc., etc., etc. that it just feels like it was made expressly for me and no one else. I mean, my dream instrument is a Rickenbacker bass, and what does Scott play...? There's a nondescript Moog in volume 2, and I have two of those synths. "Clash at Demonhead" was one of my favorite NES games, I remember having long conversations with a friend of mine about "Kid Chameleon"... There are those sorts of nerdgasms, sure, but I'm really drawn into the characters too and how complex and realistic their relationships are. I could seriously write a thoughtful essay about it if I were bored enough. I've been reading comics for closing in one 30 years now, so I'm hesitant to say that Scott Pilgrim is my favorite book I've ever read in case it's honeymoon hyperbole :), but...I'm really, really tempted. |

Great... I just ordered Asterios Polyp and Parker the Hunter because of this forum, and now I have to go seek out Scott Pilgrim...

Re: June/July/August General Comic Discussion (Summer Fun Edition)
It's great to see the Scott Pilgrim love. I was skeptical, but that book really is just a bucket of love. It's so quirky and random and fun, you just can't help but come away from it feeling good. I've only read the first 2 volumes (I own 3 and 4, I just need to get on it).
Adam, I know that feeling about falling hard for something. It's so great. The last thing that did that for me was Avatar: The Last Airbender -- talk about perfection. |

I was pluggin' Scott Pilgrim since the comic book forum began, glad to see people getting on board, I know a ton more will when the movie comes out. So glad people are checking out Parker & especially Asterios, it warms my geeky heart. |

Re: June/July/August General Comic Discussion (Summer Fun Edition)
I just read 11 straight issues of Tiny Titans.
It ruled. |
Re: June/July/August General Comic Discussion (Summer Fun Edition)
I've only read 1 issues so far, but it is an adorable book. The artist on that book, Art Balthazar (not sure on that spelling), is a great guy too. I would suggest you go listen to the two episodes he did on the Around Comics podcast (they were so good, I listened to them twice). He comes across as one of those guys you just want to see succeed in every possible way. He's really funny, and has a good story with how he found success in comics. He's definitely one of the "good guys".
