I've read quite a bit of the Punisher and I've never seen him as a villain but i'm curious if they've had any stories with him being the lead bad guy, but I've been told that their are issues out there. Please let me know.

Punisher vol 3 ran 18 issue and he becomes the head of a crime family. Kinda of a way to infiltrate it and take it down from the inside. It took place after the 'Over the Edge' storyline where Frank is finally captured by Shield.

I have a soft spot for the series, and i refer to it as the superhero Punisher (this was years before the current 'superhero' series PWJ and Punisher) I even have the splash page from issue #3

Anyway the series didnt catch on and in the end Frank lost his memory and quit, and was left on a cliffhanger. And then the supernatural mini came out and we know how that turned out.

Baron Of Hell

Near the end of the 2099 Punisher series the punisher works for Dr Doom as a enforcer of Doom's justice. Doom ends of controlling the world in the 2099 series. Note obviously the punisher doesn't see himself as evil but everyone else hates him.

Meatwad's Ghost

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, or if I'm remembering right. But when he first starting to show up in the Spider-Man comics he was a bad guy. He was popular enough and got his own series where he was a bad guy with a mission.
