Graphic novel with Venom and Spiderman?

When I was a kid I had all the Amazing Spiderman comics with Venom...sadly I sold off most of them.

Is there a colelctions that has them all so I can reread the storyline?

This might be what you're looking for - don't know if you're interested in ebay, but at least this gives you an idea that what you're looking for exists.

There was a trade called SPIDER-MAN VS. VENOM which contained portions of Amazing #298-299 and then 300, & 315-317. It has been a while since I've seen it but that might be something for you to look into. I think it was from around 1990, because I remember reading it in junior high homeroom.
:)

Ah! Bronkster beat me to it. Yes that is the exact one I remember!!

Were there other Venom stories you were looking for? There's a big Maximum Carnage trade also, which obviously contains some Venom.

How many issues was he in? for some reason it seems like I had a bunch..of course I could be thinking about all the black suit Spideys I had

I actually still have my three Carnage comics

"Spider-Man: Birth of Venom" is in stock on amazon.com. The description says it contains, "Secret Wars #8; Amazing Spider-Man #252-259, #298-300 & #315-317; Fantastic Four #274 and Web of Spider-Man #1"

Which is more than the other trade mentioned in this thread.

There's also a Venom Returns TPB with the Erik Larsen run, where Venom ends up on a deserted island, and then the Carnage TPB, wherein Spider-Man recruits Venom to help end Carnage's...erm....carnage.

And there's a brief arc (?) where Spider-Man fights Styx and Stone that touts the death of Venom, also with art by Erik Larsen, which is in the early 330's, number-wise.

Oh, with regard to collections, you're on the right track with Birth of Venom TPB (as opposed to the earlier released and with less material vs. Venom TPB), then Venom Returns (which may be OOP), followed by Carnage, Venom: Lethal Protector (possibly OOP), and Maximum Carnage (also possibly OOP). Unforuately, I don't recall if Amaz Spider-Man 374 & 375 are included in a collection, with the truce between Venom & Spider-Man ending.

when you were a kid?
tom, about how old are you now?

wow you know that i think about it,
it was almost 20 years now since he first appeared.

sheesh.

btw, venom as an entity itself first appeared one panel in Web #18 simply as a hand pushing PP in front of a subway train.

That was such a good time to be a Spider-Man fan, the whole Venom/McFarlane era. It's not quite as exciting today of course, but back then it was pure gold.
