Best is Night of the Living Dead. What a classic.

I have many more series but have just put up a few to wet the appetite...

I love Dead titles but of the more recent variety - Walking Dead, Escape of the Living Dead, Marvel Zombies, that sort.

Walking Dead is an amazing book a must read.

Oh yeah, big shout out for Walking Dead! If they ever wanted to make a weekly TV series out of a zombie holocaust, this would be great source material.

Also enjoyed the recent Marvel Zombies: Dead Days prequel.

Eh, I think I can't handle Walking Dead in singles anymore. I used to love it pre-atlanta but then the single issues are so bad to read when you just want more and more or have read a trade and got a lot at once.

You know, I love Walking Dead, but I noticed that it doesn't read terribly well in one long sitting. I read the first 12 issues via the hardcover. It was good. But the second hardcover (issues 13-24) seemed a little too like a soap opera with crap happening every few pages. It's just too much. Sure, I know a comic can't be 22 pages of nothing happening, but I'd say it's just a little too packed for me. Don't get me wrong, I still love it, I just need it in 3-4 issue chunks.

nah, I hear you. then again, I did like the theater cut of Blade Runner more than the DC...

I for one dont see the appeal of Walking Dead. The only thing it had going for it was Tony Moore knocking it out of the park on the art chores, but when he left, Adlard just ... uggh. Muddied drawings and everyone looks the same in most panels. The writing is mediocre at best. I think Kirkman diddnt realize how much people at this stuff up and is running in circles trying to extend this thing. Some of ya might disagree with me but you have to admit, there is a whole lot of fat that could be trimmed out of that series.

I used to read Deadworld, I think it was called. It usually had pretty graphic covers from Vincent Locke. I don't know if it was good, but I liked it.

On a side note, did anyone end up picking up the Frank Cho "preview" ish of Zombie King? Cow humpin at its best (as far as I know :P)

I completely agree that Tony Moore was the lynch pin of the series - his art was detailed and horrific in black and white. Adlard is one of the worst artists I have ever seen - your criticism of how his people all the look the same is spot on - half the time I am doing double takes to figure out who is who.

However, I totally disagree on the writing. Each issue takes it's time with what is happening and in a world where there's only a handful of survivors left, you can bet your ass their would be a lot of soap opera happening. The whole prison thing was great as well as the visit to the city and the whole arc with the torture 'mayor'. Great writing.

Even though I still read it every month and will continue to do so, Walking Dead doesn't do much for me anymore either. I think I've had enough of the prison and would love a big shake-up where they lose it, even for only a year or so.

Isn't that what's about to happen? The signs seem to point to it.

Picking up the second Walking Dead hardcover this weekend. Loved the first, and hopefully the second book isn't as much of a letdown as it's been made out to be in this thread.

Loved Deadworld back in the day when it was coming from Arrow and Caliber. Haven't tried the latest incarnation. I have read the first five trades of Walking Dead but not much else in the way of undead titles.
