He no-showed for his main panel, but made an appearance after the last panel of the day which was Sony. People got up and left not wanting to stick around for the Disney panel. In what was supposed to be Kevin's panel, Rosario Dawson came out and sang and fielded some questions and she got him on the phone to talk and apologize to everyone while driving down from LA. (He had screened Clerks 2 at the Arclight the night before)

Excelsior, biatches!

I'll be there.

Bump for those who are thinking of getting hotel rooms during Con.

It might not amount to much, or even be a factor, but starting on Saturday July 28 (the height of Comic-Con) the city will also be overrun with American Idol contestants. The San Diego tryouts start that day (wristbands handed out Sat/Sun, competition on Mon), so there's a chance there will be thousands of out-of-towners that will need hotels.

Anyway, just thought I'd put the info out for planning purposes.

1 month to go!

They put up the cover of the souvenir book. Princess Leia, looking rather fetching....

I ended up getting a room at the Marriot Courtyard near my friend on the North side of town. Since I was there in October he has moved a girl in with him. They need their privacy in that one bedroom.

TomOpus 06-30-07 08:19 PM

Some friend. He should tell her that SHE needs to get a hotel room for a few days. I'm sure she'd understand.

Comic-Con website has a sneak preview of the programming. Here's a link.

Interesting find for Thursday, Hall H (btw, they've never scheduled Hall H on a Thurs). Very interesting stuff... except for "Hot Rod" ;)

Should be good stuff. God damn, it's already coming up quickly. Gotta get my stuff in order! Oooh comic con!

Interesting.. I wonder how they will "look at" the new Star Trek since it hasn't even been cast yet and no final approval given on the shooting script? But since JJ Abrams will be there I am sure he will has drop some new secret tidbits. I know they wanted Matt Damon to play Kirk..

Bronkster 07-06-07 05:58 PM

I don't know if I'm going or not yet - I usually just tag along with my friend cuz he's a "pro" and gets us in free. But the Con hasn't coughed up his stuff yet. :scratch2:

devilshalo 07-06-07 07:32 PM

I registered my pro stuff and got an immediate confirmation. Did he try to pre-reg after the deadline?

I'll be staying at Hotel Circle once again and driving into the convention center. So are we still doing the Hooters thing on Wed?

Shit, I also noticed more exclusives to try and flip on eBay.

Damn!

TomOpus 07-06-07 07:47 PM

Yep, as time gets closer we'll firm up the times but we'll usually grab badges and head to Hooters until it's time to head back to the convention center.

He said this is the first time he's had a problem, and hasn't been getting any replies back to inquiries. I'm thinkin' they now see him as the hack I know he is. :D

im_ryandick 07-06-07 09:07 PM

the only reason i'm considering it is "tim and eric awesomecon, great job!"

any fresh news about this?

Well I'd agree normally, but she is cute, Asian and she makes more money than him so I want it to work out for him. He and I have been friends for 21 years back when I lived in GA.

Sometimes a relaxing stay at a hotel is better than an uncomfortable couch anyway. :)

I hear ya. Even though I live here, each year I think about getting a room at the Hilton (right across the street from the convention center). It would be so cool to be able to walk over for a quick bite or a shower and fresh clothes.

Bronkster 07-06-07 10:08 PM

and porn. :D

TomOpus 07-06-07 10:09 PM

Perv!

My friends do that, but I don't want to be hang out in a cramped room of 8 people at $250 a night. I don't mind driving in from Hotel Circle. It's close enough...

MBoyd 07-07-07 01:06 PM

Hey TomOpus where is the link for all the programming? Looks like you found it.

Oh wait maybe I found it - http://www.comic-con.org/cci/cci07prog_peek.shtml

I guess the full schedule is yet to be released?

TomOpus 07-07-07 02:47 PM

Yes, that is just a sneak preview. I think (hope) that the full schedule will be out within the week. Once the programming schedule and the autograph schedule is put up, that's when I create my itinerary... which is always tough because there is always something cool that you have to miss due to something cooler going on at the same time.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:39 PM.
