How Many CGC Comics Do You Own?
I have exactly one CGC comic.
|
That's one more than I own.
Never understood the CGC process. I mean, I understand it, I just don't get why people would pay for something like that. |
Zero.

I just got my first 2 of them..I bought Captain America #25 both versions graded 9.8 on Ebay fairly cheap. I am looking for a fast flip and make some money on the madness...
|
None. I thought that I read that CGC is owned by Wizard magazine, so I have no interest whatsoever in giving them money. Also, I'm a comic book fan - not a collector. I like to read my comics, not bag them the second I get ahold of them and put them away forever.

None.

Zero. Yet one more reason I prefer TPBs.

I have about 10. I love 'em.
|
None. Wouldn't buy the service; comics are meant to be read. And if not (say, FF #1 in NM/M), an acid-free case would be sufficient. Grading by a third party is the bunk. Make up your own mind what it's worth to you.
|
i have about 15 or so, most of which are duplicates of issues I have but love enough to want a perfect copy. And most of them are Valiants :)
|
Zero, and unless I have something great I'd want to get rid of (unlikely), it'll porbably always be zero.
|
I collect books to read them, not for investment value. So having a book in a case I can't open doesn't make sense for me. Don't get me wrong, I have some books I've considered sending in because I think I might be able to sell them and make money off of them, but still the answer is zero.
|
None, I read my comics (or at least plan to someday).
|
i have zero. i have seen comics damaged from being encapsulated, and i have seen comics freed from their case and resubmitted and receiving a higher grade. so i have no interest in them. besides its like having a super hot girlfriend but only being able to look at her and touch her thru plastic.

I have around 80. All of mine are before 1975. most are from the 1960"s. 90% of those are 9.4 or better. I don't see any point in grading modern comics hat just came off the press; as mint 9.8 copies are readily available for them.
The ones I've had graded are for preservation and insurance purposes. Eventually when I sell them I will get more for them then I would if they were not graded. |
Just one: Daredevil #185 graded 9.8 (NM).

i agree...i am in it for the stories and artwork |
I don't have any - but I'm about to sell almost 5000 comics, so wonder if I should CGC some of them... I mean, I have:
Adventure 247 Adventure 267 Batman 10 (ok - cmon - the 1940 version) complete run of Sandman (including the "special" #8) Green Lantern/Green Arrow Neal Adams run complete X-Men 94-whenever and lots of earlier ones a few 1940s All-Flash and Captain Marvel first appearance of Howard the Duck first appearance Wolverine 'Mazing Man 1-12 (ok, just had to throw that in) and tons more So - I think - if I'm selling this, should I pay to CGC them????? |
Proud to say: ZERO
|
I don't even know what a CGC comic is (and I've been buying comics for almost 30 years now), so, I guess I don't own any.

Seeker,
It might be worth your while, although I haven't researched it for awhile. But I remember that CGC slabbed books used to get significantly more on ebay. Do some ebay completed auction research and you should be able to find your answer. Slop101, wiki article on CGC |
