Other LARGE hardcover collections?
Hi. Aside from collections like DC's Absolute and Marvel's Omnibus books, what are some good hardcovers out there that collect a LOT of single issues (10+)? I finally got around to picking up the first two Invincible "Ultimate" collections and I really enjoyed the format.
Suggestions? I was thinking of picking up Ultimates, and possibly Runaways.

I believe that Dark Horse produced a set of Sim City hardcover books. I've seen them at the comic book store, but they are wrapped in plastic, so I haven't been able to give them a good look.

I believe Barnes & Noble put out a huge Ultimate Spiderman Hardcover book that included the first 3 Ultimate Spiderman Hardcovers Marvel put out. I would say that book had about 40 issues in it, I saw it one time only and it was quite large. I think it had a $40 cover price, which is quite cheap since Marvel gets $30 for each regular volume...

The Spiderman thing was good value but I passed because of readability concerns. I did get one of the Sin City volumes (the first one which had the best stories). Huge but very nice if you can prop it up in your armchair.

All the Ultimate Marvel books have hardcovers that collect two or three of the trades at a time (I collect Ultimate X-men and FF this way, even though the wait between volumes is understandably much longer). Also, Morrison's run on X-men was collected in a similar manner (and I think there's a single volume collection for that as well). Astonishing X-men hardcover collected the first two trades, which I think was around 10 to 12 issues. Runaways has huge hardover collections as well.

If you are looking for something differet, an absolute must own hardcover coming out this month is the Madman Gargantua collection. It's absolutely stunning & collects every Madman comic ever. It's such a great collection.
Another Mike Allred over-sized hardover that should be mandatory for every comic book fan is X-Force: Famous, Mutant & Mortal. It's such a great looking collection from Marvel that nobody ever talks about. IMO maybe the best single Marvel run of the past 20 years (except for Bru's Captain America run), it's that good IMO.
Also a must-own non-Marvel/DC oversized hardcover that really, really looks amazing is the Walking Dead Omnibus, it doesn't matter if you never read it before, as long as you are not oppose to horror & brilliant writing, it will be the best blind buy you ever make.

I picked it up after looking at several B&N's for a copy (it's been out of print for a little while now). Finally found one, and it had a small tear on the dust jacket (about 1/2" long on the spine area), and the clerk said he'd take $5 off the price for me. Well, it rang up at $24.99 because the last few copies they'd had were closed out, and I got $5 off! $20 bux for 40 or so issues ain't bad, I say.

Keep the discussion going guys. I definitely want to get that Madman book. I'm interested in tracking down one of those Ultimate Spidey HCs as well.

However the one-volume Bone is still a must own book. After Watchmen, IMO it's the greatest completed comic book story ever told. The Hardcover was strictly limited to I think only 250 copies, so it's pretty hard to find, I sold one a while ago for a little over $200. So you're better off just getting the soft-cover.

Yeah, sorry I didn't just mean "large" as in oversized in length and width, I would also welcome anything of abnormal thickness as well.
I totally did not mean that to sound so filthy.
