Best price for Ultimate Kingdom Come?

I'm about to buy the Ultimate Kingdom Come with Google checkout from buy.com for a shade under $40; there's not a better deal out there, is there?

I think that is about as good as you will find it unless you luck up on ebay.

I have heard in the past that these heavy books from buy.com arent always shipped with the best packaging.

I was considering getting some Absolutes from Buy as well, but was worried about the packing (a deal isn't a deal if the books comes in beat to shit).
I'm assuming you got these by now- whats the verdict? would you chance an order from them again?

Paul, the quote button isn't showing up on my screen, but in reply to your question, Absolute Dark Knight arrived in great shape. It wasn't secured in the box like Amazon usually does, shrink wrapped to a piece of cardboard, so it could have bounced around in the box during shipping, but luckily it wasn't banged up.

thanks for the reply.
Glad to hear yours showed up safe- but without any padding, sounds like you may have just been lucky- but those prices with GCO are so tempting.
I was considering getting some of the archives as well.
I'll probably give it a shot if I can ever get thru the checkout.

Man! I just ordered a few Absolute books from Buy.com with the least expensive shipping method, let's hope things come out all right (me crossing my fingers). But to answer you're request OP, I did an order for just this book using the Google Checkout manner which takes off $20 from any total purchase of $50 or more. So what I did was get the book with one $3 Dover Classics book and got my order down to $30 but with shipping and California tax it came out ultimately at $38, not bad with all things considered.

Hoping again, the packing is good.

my copy of the Absolute New Frontier came in today (just 4 days after I first ordered it) and the box was padded with paper (like DDD does for large orders). I'm very impressed. Even the Showcase I ordered with it came in excellant condition.
I did choose the ~$5 shipping option, and that may have had something to do with it. I'll be very surprised if the rest of the books arrive in as good a shape as these did.

Have to say I'm very impressed with the Absolute format. The extra material isn't what I would call extensive, but its judicious. I especially appreciate the several pages of illustrated annotations for the story. And I dig the large format much more than I thought I would.

Almost considering picking up Kingdom Come now, even though I already have a hardcover edition (graphitti?).

I'll just stick with my earlier Graphitti version. It's in a nicer packaging (IMO) plus it's signed by Waid & Ross.
