Comic book: X-Force?

Anyone ever hear of this? It's from Marvel Comics.

It's a little late to pop into the local comic book store, but I'm wondering how much it's worth...

I was cleaning my room when i stumbled upon it.

I have issue #1.

If you have a birdcage it would make the perfect lining.

Well, depending on which card it's bagged with..

Congratulations!! You own one of BILLIONS!!!!!!

I seem to recall owning a few copies of that back in the nineties. They got tossed into a bon fire!

Take care all!!

Slightly more valuble than any issues of Brigade #1 or Bloodpool #1 you have laying around! RUB THE BLOOD!!!!

Superboy 07-19-05 08:54 AM

It really depends on which of the 14 different holofoil collector covers it is, and whether or not it came with the trading card of Shatterstar. Then again it had a limited run of 14 Million so i'm sure it's worth SOMETHING.

Well, I'll be nice, since you live in my neighborhood.

Unfortunately, it won't be worth much, because it was brought out at the height of the comic speculator boom, when everyone was collecting doubles and triples of issues to "save as investments." It might be a few bucks over cover price in some price guides, but you'd be hard pressed to actually get that from someone.

If you really want to sell it, check ebay. Also of note is that the issues were all polybagged with trading cards, and I remember back in the day there were different prices for different cards packed in. If the comic is open, and is not sealed in a bag with the card, it's probably worth even less. Just open it, marvel at the myriad of ways Liefeld hides feet so he doesn't have to draw them, and see how many people you can spot standing with their arms straight out to their sides.

actually people were buying them by the dozen.

Liefeld's art is horrible, and his weaknessess really remind me of Micheal Turner. Turner has the same problems with proportion, sizing, anatomy, drawing feet, reusing poses, etc.

I love how there is little consistency panel to panel with Liefeld. It's like those "what's different between these pictures" in the newspapers.

Mole177 07-25-05 01:33 PM

cool... will it ever be worth anything?

just to note, i wonder how much these other ones i have are worth if any...

Spawn #12
Daredevil #312
1963 The Fury book two ??
1963 Mystery Incorporated book one ??
The Maxx
Captain America #404 part 3/6
Superpatriot #2
Captain America #405 part 4/6

dadaluholla 07-25-05 01:43 PM

It will never be worth anything. I am sorry.

The same with the other books. I doubt any comic book dealer would give you more than 2-3 dollars on a good day for your whole lot.

Mole177 07-25-05 02:04 PM

^bummer... oh well. thnx!

Jason 07-25-05 08:24 PM

So there are comics that are more worthless than my ROM the Spaceknight books? Wow.

Rogue588 07-25-05 10:40 PM

ROM rocks!

The less said about Liefeld/X-Force, the better..

dadaluholla 07-26-05 07:55 AM

Yeah I think if going through a quarter bin, I would pick up an issue of Rom before some early 90's crap. Oh, and to answer the question, there are definitely books worth less than ROM.....

Two words: NEW UNIVERSE.

Josh-da-man 07-26-05 08:58 AM

Most comics released in the past twenty-five years will never have any kind of long-term value. There are just too many copies out there and too few collectors.

Especially comics from the early 90s, when print runs were in the hundreds of thousands if not millions.
