Crossgen comic question

Hi,

I gave up on comics nearly 2 years ago as it got to be way too expensive (so now I just spend the money on DVDs). I noticed Crossgen is set to release two monthly collections: Forge and Edge. Both are 240 pages and $9.95. Where online can I order these? I've tried searching Midtowncomics.com, Westfieldcomics.com, even Amazon. The only place they list them is issue 3 in the advance order section. At this point, I just want to check them out and don't need to subscribe. My local comic shops are very 'Crossgen-lite' and I don't expect them to carry these.

Any help would be appreciated. I believe the first one comes out next week.

:D Finally some pertinent info for you has appeared in one of the weekly comic threads: <A HREF="http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=198982" target="_blank">link</a>

www.eastcoastcomics.com has Forge #1 (~$7.50 + s/h).

Click on the link for the CG Mall. They've got both of those TPBs for sale.

www.midtowncomics.com has issue #1 of Forge under the "Graphic Novels" section, although the link Liquid Death provided does have the better price.

In addition, before spending money on Edge & Forge, sample some of Crossgen's titles (and we're talking full comics as samples) at:

[Edited out link: use Bjacks link. I only linked in the first site on the Crossgen list :) . Slushfactory is a good site, so support them :) ]

Click on the below "Select a title to read" and choose whichever titles you want to look at.

They also have a lowcost on-line subscription if you just want to read Crossgen titles on-line.

Any comic shop can specialty order any book for you if you request it (providing the owners aren't complete *******s).

By the way, if you do subscribe via CrossGen's Comics On The Web, please consider doing it through http://www.comicsontheweb.com/slushfactory, rather than the Lycos site. Same thing, but it helps keep an independent company (mine) alive.

I picked up Forge last week. 1/2 way through it, and while not everything I've read has been exceptional (I like Sojurn so far- always been intrigued but never bought), it's a great way for Crossgen to let fans check out their stuff for a great price. I don't have much money for comics anymore because of school, but I'll probably pick up 1 of the collelctions regularly each month.

I originally purchased Ruse 1-3, and that series was real nice from what I read. I'll pick up the other book once the Ruse reprints catch up

Ruse is great. I recently bought all the back issues up to the current story line, and they've been very enjoyable. Good mix of superhero and Sherlock Holmes.
