Glad I didn't know much about this book going in, because I think it works best that way (especially after reading some online reviews). All I can say is that if you're a fan of King, read it (hopefully without being spoiled) and just be willing to go for the ride that Mr. King wants to take you.

I keep putting off his recent detective books though. Are they worth it, even though I'm not a fan of that genre. Reader reviews seem mixed.
