I'm about half-way through and really liking it. Thus far, it's the best book I've read in several months. |

Based on the few high reccomandations it got here, I started reading Stephen King's Joyland, which is okay, except for the eye-rolling dialogue. King has a hard time knowing the difference between what his characters would say and what he thinks is funny to hear them say. I swear, after the first scene with the landlady, I felt embarrassed to be reading this book.

Almost done "The Fifties" by David Halberstam. I knew the bones of what happened in that decade, but it's interesting to read and understand the details and context. The stuff about Ike's campaign as well as McDonald's Ray Kroc is particularly fascinating.

How is it? I enjoyed Last Night at the Lobster.
Haven't read Lobster, only other O'nan book I read was Emliy, Alone (which I found out too late that it was sequel to Wish You Were Here). |

Just finished:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...SH20_OU01_.jpg Ok, a quick read, but pretty predictable. Now reading: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...SH20_OU01_.jpg About 10 percent done, I'm liking it a lot so far. |

I enjoyed the first one, this second one is more of a chore. And I'll be passing on the third. |
