Re: What's the last book you bought?

Edited to correct: Just realized I posted this in the wrong thread. But since it's also the last book I bought, I can fix it that way.

Garage sale last weekend, found hardcovers of three Dune novels I’ve been searching for forever. $5 for the three of them.

This past weekend I got the TPB of the Best of TMNT Vol 1.

Re: What's the last book you bought?

My fiancée and I went to a book sale a couple weeks ago. Picked up:

Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder (some random title I found and decided to get because of the title and cover)
Gone with the Wind
James and the Giant Peach
Of Mice and Men
Red Dragon
Water For Elephants

A couple days later she picked up The Swiss Family Robinson at a different shop we got to. I also recently ordered the first volume of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Collection which I’ve been eyeing for a long time.

I bought The Galaxy Primes by EE Doc Smith at the science fiction convention for $2. I already own the book, but I loved the cover. It shows a space battle against flying space leopards.

Even the characters in the book think it's weird.

Bought "Lonesome Dove" hardcover after finishing it on Kindle.
It's a huge, influential epic that deserves a place in any library - home or public.
While I don't find McMurtry to be the world's greatest writer, in literary sense - too much tell, not show - he sure was a master of storytelling and fleshing out compelling characters.
