Right now I'm reading "The Nan Tu - Southern Swallow Book II (Nan Ya)"
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...SH20_OU01_.jpg

Okay, finished that - it was difficult to read and I kept getting confused by all of the Chinese names and places, but I finished it and mostly enjoyed it. Now I'll start on "Swan Cloud - Southern Swallow Book III (Nan Ya)"
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...SH20_OU01_.jpg
Finished that one now - it was enjoyable and I have to wait until Mr. Patterson finishes the next book in the series before I can continue, although that disappoints me - I want to keep going in this fine adventure.

I just started "Toby Streams the Universe". I bought another Patterson book today - "Belmundus (The Farn Trilogy)" - but I wanted to take a break from Mr. Patterson's writing style for a few days.

Just finished this one. It took me a bit to get through. I certainly didn't attempt to plow through it either. There was a lot more to digest. I have to say I learned quite a few things I had never known about the man/his life too. It was interesting, but I wish it had been a bit more accessible. Then again, with a life as long and filled as his, it's not light reading either.

Chose to go much lighter with the next book.

I was going to start Under the Dome, but I got swept up by Opening Day, so it's this right now:

After the long journey the Ben Franklin book took me on, I needed some lighter fare. This book definitely qualified. I may be in the minority, even among hockey fans, but I love listening to Barry Melrose on ESPN. This was like that. Really fast read and he not only talked about his life, but his feelings about the game of hockey in general. Definitely spoke as a member of the "old guard", a former player, a former coach, and an analyst. Just because I happen to agree with many of his positions, I don't know if that predisposes me to enjoy the book, but it certainly didn't hurt. Real quick, but VERY enjoyable, read for me.

If you're a hockey fan, it won't take you long to read this one and I have a feeling there'll be at least a few things in there you'll enjoy. Even if you're not, but are interested in learning more or just enjoy some honest openness about the current state of affairs, this isn't going to take a ton of time out of your schedule.

"John Dies at the End" by David Wong. Ridiculous situations and hilariously understated humor combined with overwhelming gore and genuine disgustingness. I like it a lot.

Next up: "A Year in the Merde" by Stephen Clarke which as a slightly doubting Francophile seems to be right up my alley.

Putting Ball Four on hold so I can get this read before the miniseries airs:

My Kindle says it'll take me 29 hours and 33 minutes to finish it.
