Now reading Nick Harkaway's "The Gone Away World", a debut novel from 2008 that I picked up as a result of an Amazon recommendation.

Re: What are you reading? (February 2013)
I decided to hold off on Stranger in a Strange Land, and start reading:
My wife had started it, so I thought it would be fun to read it again myself. Once finished, we can watch the somewhat horrifying film.

Review I left on Amazon:
This book has changed my life. Not only that, I would have to say it is the book that has most changed my life. It was just an extraordinary piece of writing and advice and look at a life that leaves you looking at your own life. I didn't want to like it. I read his first book and since he cheated on his wife I didn't want to like this book, but his writing is just so engaging that I really enjoy it so I set out to read it. I also come from a place that nobody's perfect and people come as packages and you can't just pick and choose what you get, you get the whole deal. I also finish about one book for every ten books I start. If I finish the book, I loved it. From the first word I was completely engaged in this book. I grew to really admire him and really wish I could just sit down and talk to him just like he likes to with people he admires. I wanted the chapter on his cheating to be longer but those ten little pages explained it perfectly. He messed up. He's sorry. What else can he say? What else can any of us say? The rules at the end really spoke to me. I am taking actions in my life because of this book, and reading it has been a pivotal moment in my life.
