What are you reading? (December 2012)

Tried to read In the Days of the Comet by H.G. Wells, couldn't get into it, started reading Volume 1 of The Darksword Trilogy: Forging the Darksword by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman:

Almost finish reading "ARCHIE MEETS NERO WOLFE".
First new NERO WOLFE novel in about 20 years and I have enjoyed reading it very much.
Much better effort by Robert Goldsborough then his other 7 NW novels from the early 90's.

I've been reading intermittently that is, Conquistador. The times of Herman Cortez versus the Aztecs. I haven't had a lot of time lately to finish the book as I've started a new job and I have been distracted but it's a good book.

A mixture of clunkers and surprisingly good but forgotten stories. Published in 1992, most of the stories are now on Project Gutenberg and Librivox.

Some of the best are The Lost Special by Arthur Conan Doyle and The Dutchess of Wiltshire's Diamonds by Guy Boothby. Check them out.

I hear The Racketeer is a 'return to form for Grisham'. Though how many times have we heard that?

The main takeaway lesson? Someone who buys food at the supermarket is in danger of speedy death in rugged environments. Luckily, the people who live in them are friendly.
